Story
Telryn "Trip" Yert has always been a little odd, with hunches that are too accurate to explain. Magic is feared and forbidden in Iskandia, so he's struggled his whole life to hide his eccentricities. As a boy, he was forced to watch his mother's execution. Her crime? Witchcraft. Understandably, Trip wants nothing to do with the power that lurks within him, always threatening to reveal itself. Instead, he dedicates himself to serving as an officer in the king's army, to battling pirates and imperial conquerors. He longs to become a soldier as respected and renowned as General Zirkander.

An enforcer wanted dead for crimes she didn’t commit.... An assassin wanted dead for crimes he did commit.... Normally, they would be enemies, but they both seek the same thing: exoneration. Unfortunately, a nefarious underground organization is attempting to kill the one man who could grant it to them - the emperor. If they want to win their freedom, they’ll have to battle powerful wizards, outscheme master schemers, and defeat bloodthirsty monsters, all while dodging friendly fire and evading the law. I’m Val Thorvald, and I’m an assassin. When magical bad guys hurt people, I take care of them. Permanently. This doesn’t make me popular with the rest of the magical community — as you can tell from the numerous break-ins and assassination attempts I’ve endured over the years. But thanks to my half-elven blood, a powerful sword named Chopper, and a telepathic tiger with an attitude, I’ve always been able to handle my problems with aplomb. Maybe some cursing and swearing, too, but definitely aplomb.

After 10 years at war, Jev Dharrow looks forward to hanging up his sword, relaxing with a cool mug of ale, and forgetting that the love of his life married another man while he was gone. But when his ship sails into port, a beautiful woman wearing the garb of an inquisitor from one of the religious orders waits to arrest him. He’s accused of stealing an ancient artifact with the power to start another war. Jev would gladly hand over the artifact to stop more suffering, but he has no idea where it is or even what it looks like. The inquisitor woman definitely has the wrong person.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Publisher's Summary
Everyone knows dragons have been extinct for over 1,000 years.
Everyone is wrong.
At least one dragon remains, and military scientists from the Cofah Empire are experimenting with its blood, using the magical substance to power deadly new weapons that could be used to bring the world to its knees. That's a concern for Zirkander, Cas, and the rest of the Iskandians, but all Tolemek wants is to find his missing sister. The last time he saw her, their father had locked her in an asylum because of a mental illness with no cure. Now the military has taken her. What use the Cofah have for her, Tolemek can only guess, but he is certain she is in danger. He must save her before it's too late. But her fate is inexplicably tied to the dragon's, and he must find it to find her.

Here comes the Dragon
Book 3 in this series left in a large cliffhanger, a plan and coarse of action to travel in order to save one of the main character's sister. I took a break on the series for a bit to catch up on some other series, but when I came back, I was instantly hooked once again. I love learning more about each character and their distinct personalities. The story was tense and full of action, with each character on the journey offering their own qualities to help further their quest. Great story, great tension, and great ending. I'm looking forward to the rest in the series.

Another great episode from Lindsay Buroker
I've enjoyed listening to another book in the Dragon Blood series. I own the rest of them on kindle but wish they were all available to listen to as well. The narrator, Caitlin Davies, does a fine job with differing the voices of the characters.
The series is a fantasy story arc with magic, dragons, airships and adventure. I'm looking forward to more of the character development as I move into the 5th book.
Happy listening!

The interesting adventure story continues
I've become rather attached to this series and the characters - whom are all well developed, interesting and fully integrated within the plot. The narrator does a fine job of voicing the different individuals so that you can discern each by the voice and inflections she gives them.
I started the series by downloading the omnibus of the first 3 books for free as an Audible member, but became hooked and am now buying them on my own as I've got to find out 'what happens next'!
I happily recommend this book, like the whole genre, it's a firm favourite forming a guilty pleasure for me! Easy to listen to, good plots and sub-plots, great story telling and all in all, a fun listen.

another exciting story!
i really enjoy listening to Caitlin doing all the voices. she really gives all the characters a distinct sound. and just when you think she's done them all, another character is introduced.
This type of adventure fantasy novel is very addictive. and the love stories woven in are also very sweet. The main characters are very interesting (having their strengths and weaknesses) and it gives me the escape I need from the boring day to day things I have to do. and I keep coming back for more.

Engaging story!
Engaging story filled with action and guessing what is going to happen next.
Performance was supurb, using different voices for the different characters. However sometimes the tonality didn't match the flow. Other times it was clear that the narrator had taken a break and then restarted with a voice not matching what preceded.
Though these are very minor feedback and actually this has been the best narration of any audio book with multiple characters. Outstanding job.

Spellbinding
I really love this series. It’s so different to everything else around and constantly keeps me guessing as to what will happen next. The characters are fresh and engaging and make me want to learn more about them. I also love the balance between the male and female heroes. I’m off to the next book in the series now, will you join me?
