Publisher's Summary

Emmett McCabe never expected to see Sydney Stevens - a woman with whom she'd shared a brief, incendiary connection before it all went up in flames - again. Luckily, ascending the cutthroat ladder of a high-pressure surgery residency to reach the top spot makes it easy to ignore what's missing in her life. Then Sydney reappears after nearly five years. Emmett is barely over her shock when she discovers Sydney is her new competition for the coveted chief's position everyone, including Emmett, expects will be hers.

Professional rivalry and long-simmering passions create a combustible combination when the two are forced to work together, especially when past attractions won't stay buried.

My favorite yet.

Having been through all the series book from Radclyffe, this is hands down my favorite of any. I hope this continues. Kinda shipping Dani and Zoey.

Struggled to finish this... 16 chapters in and there hasn't been any kind of... real connection between the two.. nothing.. not even about how they connected before I even started reading the book. Half the book (and I mean 5 goood looong hours) is based on one day.. intro day... in the hospital.... explanations about medical procedures ... atleast got the sense of how it really is in the or room.. but felt too much... every procedure explained which I felt removed the attention from how the two characters were supposed to develop post 1st meeting...

The other half of the book feels rushed.. especially when Syd talking about her past experiences... felt lots of details that I was looking for in the first part of the book were all crammed in the last 4 or 5 chapters, leaving little time to merge it into the story.. feel like there is more to come..
I am a big fun of you Radclyffe but this was a miss.

Cool that Honor and Quinn are back.. favourite couple from the medical romance series...

Boring

I'm disappointed with this book. Seems like someone could write it in a weekend for a quick buck. Sorry Radclyffe. I love so many of your books...not this one.

Not much passion or rivalry

I love Radclyffe. Usually enjoyable stories. Yes it is a bit of a rinse and repeat formula but they quality was decent. This story feels like even Radclyffe is just going through the motions. The only reason I checked this one out was for more Honor and Quinn, even that seemed forced. And there is no attempt in continuity of voice type with pre-existing characters. It’s a solid Meh.

Second Chance Medical Romance

Emmett McCabe and Sydney Stevens never expected to see each other ever again after Sydney disappeared from the medical program. Now they are competing for the chief resident position. A passionate meeting of rivals is about to explode. Great narrator.

More of the same from Radclyffe

The names and locations change from one series to the next, but it’s the same story over and over. Radclyffe makes her characters JUST different enough to make you care about them, but you absolutely know how the story will end.
And WHY does every narrator have to make half of every couple sound like they are cheaper with words than Scrooge is with money, and like they’re competing with James Earl Jones for the same voice roll?

Great medical romance

This was an exciting hospital-based, second chance romance between two fourth year residents competing for the same position. This story has a ton of emergency room action which makes it much more than the standard romance. This story is narrated beautifully by Lori Prince.

Not bad

Hands Down, Lori Prince best narrator in ANY Audiobook!!! She makes me want to listen to any author as long as she is the narrator! This wasn’t a bad book just fast wrap up at the end!

Not my fave Radclyffe..

Radclyffe is skilled at weaving the underlying romantic story in with whatever the plot is about of any given book. This time it’s VERY heavy on the medical aspects more than anything else. Endless descriptions of dramatic medical procedures take up a good 90% of the overall content. I enjoy when her stories are realistic but I found myself skipping forward past about the tenth emergency situation bc it was clear the next 15-20 mins would be that alone. Not that it wasn’t a decent book & Lori Prince delivered another great performance...but this just isn’t my fave Radclyffe book in general or even my fave in this series.

Great way to end a series.

So far this series has been my favorite. Great characters, interesting storylines and fantastic narration. Passionate rivals ends it perfectly and I think is my favorite out of the whole series. Just like always, I don’t want it to end.
