Publisher's Summary

A veteran Army Ranger and a clumsy veterinarian build a friendship on the ranch but it isn't long before unexpected feelings grow between them.

When bumbling veterinarian Jennifer Barsby’s friend Hazel falls ill, she doesn’t hesitate to take action. After quitting her job in Atlanta, she packs up her life and moves to the Cotton Tree ranch in South Georgia to take care of her sick former roommate. But when circumstances change, she wonders what she should do with the rest of her life.

Handsome and brooding cowboy, Parker Williams, is just another pal - at least that’s how Jen sees him. A former Army Ranger, he’s found renewed purpose as part-owner of the ranch. But he’s given up on the idea of ever moving on or finding love. That is until Jen moves in.

She’s fun-loving, accident-prone, earnest and caring. But could she ever see him as anything more than a friend?

Dreams do come true

Jenn quits her job as a veterinarian and heads to Tifton, GA to be with her friend and former college roommate as she faces cancer surgery and treatments. This selfless act is not without its rewards. Because her friends brother in law is part owner of the ranch and he is not only a gorgeous hunk, he's available and there is a mutual attraction that not only blossoms but grows. Great story, characters and as a bonus it takes place in my home state of Georgia . Dawson McBride does a wonderful narration as always.

Parker!

I am a big fan of Vivi Holt's series Cowboy's and Debutantes. I love the way the author has developed the characters and made them more than one dimensional. Jenn and Hazel have such a special friendship, and it was heartwarming to hear it described in this book. Parker is a brother to Hazel's husband. I also love how the imagery and sense of small town helpfulness is described in this book. This is a standalone listen, but I am glad I've listened to the others in the series. Dawson McBride is the perfect narrator for this cowboy book. His voice is smooth and textured, and his ability to perform various characters with distinguishable voices is wonderful.

Great series

This was the ending of a wonderful series. This is Parkers story. I loved how clumsy Jen was and her great attitude. I like how this friendship turns into something more and how Jen.was able to bring happiness to Parker who had issues due to being on the war. It was also nice how their neighbors came together to help out. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

Another great book in this series!

I really enjoyed this story. It could be read as a stand alone, but I think reading the book Eamon first would make this more enjoyable. It follows the romance and challenges faced by Emily and Eamon, so it was nice to follow-up with that couple as well. I really liked both main characters, but the ending was a little short for me. There was so much build up; I would have liked to have been in on a little more of the romance with Parker and Jennifer. Great story though, and great narration as well. Dawson is very pleasant to listen to.

Parker & Jenn

Cowboys and Debutantes continues with this romantic story of Jenn and Parker. As Hazel begins her fight with breast cancer, Jenn quits her job and moves to the Cotton Tree Ranch to help her out. She gets a local job as a vet and helps around the ranch as Hazel recovers. She had no idea what else the ranch had in store for her. Parker is one of the three Williams brothers, and finds himself drawn to Jenn. He knows she is only here while Hazel gets better, but will that be enough? These two have sweet journey to their happily ever after. What I truly love about this series is the integration of the characters from book to book. While each could be a standalone, I think it's best to start with Dalton's story and continue, each building on the next. The bond between the brothers is unbreakable and the feeling on this ranch is so warm and full of family that it's hard to not fall into it. It would be easy to sit at their dinner table and just feel at home. I also loved the compassion that Vivi Holt writes about Hazel's journey with breast cancer. It's a tough topic, and she handles it with grace. Parker and Jenn are wonderful together and I enjoyed their journey.

Dawson McBride is an amazing narrator. His raspy baritone voice is perfect for the cowboy scene and he brings this family to life. His different voices are so easily distinguished. I love that the inflection in his voice will make your heart wrench or soar as he reads the story as he brings it to life.

Parker

Another wonderful addition to the Cowboys and Debutantes series! This book is a continuation of other books in the series, but is also a standalone. Dalton and Emily figure prominently in the book and Eamon and Emily are key players once again.

Parker Williams is a Veteran who has problems adjusting to his life after his stint with the Army Rangers in Syria. When his sister-in-law Hazel is diagnosed with breast cancer, her college roommate, Jennifer Barsby, decides to quit her job and come to Cotton Tree ranch to help her through this difficult time. Jen is a clumsy Veterinarian with a big heart and she quickly adapts to her new life in Tiften GA.

Neither Jen nor Parker are interested in more than friendship, but romance readers everywhere know that isn't likely to stop their budding romance.

This is a lovely, inspirational book that will have you laughing, crying and cheering for the characters. I love the way that Ms. Holt intertwines these books and the characters. There is just enough inspiration to inspire you (pardon the pun!) without being preachy. The characters are well-developed and believable and you will feel like you know them by the time you finish the book.

Dawson McBride's deep voice will have you swooning from the first and he does an amazing job with his narration. His performance really adds a lot to the book.

If you love inspirational romances with a HEA ending, give this series a chance. You won't be disappointed! I was given the chance to listen to the Audible version of this book by the author and chose to review it.

Wonderful ending to a series

I was looking forward to Parker's story since book 3. I loved Parker's shy, yet strong character. Jenn is a character I love with her selfless act of quitting her job to help her friend fight cancer. I had friends who helped me with my fight, so I guess this is a reason why I liked her so much. This wonderful story of joy out of struggle was heartwarming and well written. I liked Dawson's narrating better with this book. His voice is too relaxing for me personally, but I do not want to discourage anyone from getting this book for my personal preference.

Parker and Jen a Sweet Romance

Paker, together with is two older brothers owns and runs the Cotton Tree Ranch, he's the last brother to remain unattached his brothers have both recently married or met the woman of their dreams.

Parker has retired from the Rangers and still suffers moments of stress and brooding, he isn't looking for a relationship but he is friends with Jen, his sister in law's best friend and former roommate, who he met when Dalton and Hazel married.

Jen returns to the Cotton Tree when she learns that her best friend Hazel has cancer, she is determined to be there for her and do whatever she can to make things easier. She is reunited with Parker and they become good friends. She seems to be the only person Parker really talks to.

As time passes their friendship deepens and Paker's feeling towards Jen begin to change but he's never been very good with women and wonders if it's only him feeling this way.

Everything comes to a head when a really bad storm hits and damages the ranch house, at the same time Hazel is in hospital having surgery to try and remove her cancer. Then as if that's not bad enough the insurance company finds a way to get out of paying their claim. Can things get any worse?

I enjoyed this sweet love story, I loved both the two main characters and it was nice to catch up with Eamon and Dalton and visit the Cotton Tree again. The writing style is excellent and the narration is perfect.

I would love to tell you more but that would involve spoilers so I will just say that this is a great addition to this series and is one you will not want to miss.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Parker

Jennifer drops everything to go be with her best friend Hazel while she is recovering from her cancer treatments. She has dropped everything to be here apparently including her boyfriend. Parker becomes a shoulder and friend, but could it be more. While she is in the area she picks up a part time job to have a little something to do. Jennifer is fitting right in with the whole area. This is sweet clean story and I'm loving the series. The narration is nice.
