Can't say he missed anything

If you could sum up Parcells: A Football Life in three words, what would they be?

If you are a Giants fan, this is a book you have to read (or listen to). I was surprised he didn't talk more about football being his narcotic. Good story by a great football mind.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Parcells: A Football Life?

His leaving the Giants. Wish he focused more on the disaster of the Ray Handley era. Never realized he wanted to return.

What three words best describe Jason Culp’s performance?

He was good- i got a kick out of him imitating Parcels. I wish I heard some of his actual voice (Parcels that is)

Biography of a coach -- and a man

"This may be the most important things I've learned in sports. You are never entitled. Win or get fired."

Hard words. But I try to live up to them in my own profession.
It doesn't make it any easier.
But it does make it clearer.

They don't make em like the "Big Tuna" anymore!!!

Any additional comments?

As football biographies go, this was one of the best, next to Favre and Namath...I had forgotten so much of Bill's success and hadn't a clue about his heritage or family background. This book also reveals the very human and insecure side of Bill. And most of all it's amazing to see how much "life" legacy he left with all the lives he made a positive difference in. This is what counts most of all, and we're still all reaping the rewards of his legacy today....Enjoy the ride!!!

Trent's Take

Great book. Very revealing insights into Parcel's Football life. My wife, not a big sports fan, also thought it was a fun book.

Parcells DNA is made up of the greatest football coaches of all time and Minds in the game. from Vince Lombardi , Al Davis, Mike holla back, and other greats all have a piece in Bill Parcells. A true NFL Legend

Where does Parcells: A Football Life rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This title would rank among the top 10 audio books I have listened to so far

What other book might you compare Parcells: A Football Life to, and why?

I would compare this with Madden (unabridged) by Bryan Burwell, both fantastic and influential coaches from the NFL

What about Jason Culp’s performance did you like?

Jason Culp's characterisation of the brusque New Jersey native is as close to hearing Parcells read the words off the page as you'll get.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are quite a few emotional moments throughout the book, Parcells is a down to earth hard nosed coach with a heart.

Any additional comments?

Absolutely recommend this title to anyone who followed football from the 70's onwards, besides Parcells notable achievements his time in the NFL has been spent grooming and shaping some of the most iconic players and coaches in the league.
