Excellent writing...Lame narrator

Boys Will Be Boys was the finest sports book I've ever heard/read. The authors research and presentation were excellent. I am an avid football fan and I consider myself a quasi historian of the game. Yet, on numerous occasions I found myself listening to facts that I'd never heard before. The story itself was so hard to pull away from that I would have listened to it in one sitting if I had the time. It is so interesting that you don't have to like sports at all and you would still love this book. I actually think that people that don't follow the game would probably receive the most satisfaction because they wouldn't know the end result of the many great characters in this book. In this case, truth is more interesting than fiction.

One caveat though... The narrator was pitiful!!! He obviously had zero knowledge of the game of football nor of any of the Dallas Cowboys. The guy should have done SOME research into how to pronounce the characters names. It was very distracting because I knew the correct pronunciations. I found myself talking back to my IPod trying to correct the dude. Don't get me wrong... When he wasn't mispronouncing names his work was good. He has a good narrators voice, but he constantly jacked up names. In spite of that this was still a 5 star book. If you download it you will not regret it.

A must read/listen for fans

A vary eye opening View at the 90s cowboys any cowboys fan past,present or future I recommend checking it out. it will give you an understanding on why the Dallas cowboys are one of the greatest team's in the NFL but also one of the most hated.

Very much enjoyed especially positive ending. Hard to believe those times were as crazy as they were , curious if any current examples exist in the NFL .

Great story, felt like I was back in the 90’s

Just like other books by this author, he did a great job combining a wild story with great inside anecdotes and first hand accounts from the team of the 90’s. I hate the cowboys, but sure do love and respect those legendary players. If you’re a fan of the cowboys or football in general, make this listen mandatory.

fascinating history

A very entertaining history of the 90s Dallas Cowboys. I loved listening to it.
It did not bother me enough to stop listening but there was a lot of "foul language," if that bothers you. just know that. It just kept me from listening to it on a road trip.

Verbally visual!

Loved hearing more about my favorite Team The DALLAS COWBOYS!
The perspective, was very interesting. I have heard similar stories regarding the BOYS, yet the perspectives bring you closer to time and sensory or the events… love the listening opportunities.

Cowboys!

Loved this book. Listened twice! As a resident of Dallas I definitely remember those days.

Great book!

Excellent book. I highly recommend if you enjoy reading about sports. I'm not even a Dallas fan but I appreciated the talent they had then. So fan or not it's still worth reading.

Awesome

The story is fantastic. Lots of winning, drugs, sex, and big personalities. Not a fan of the Cowboys but this book should be good for anyone who likes drama or football.

Similar to Pearlman's book on Favre but this one takes it up a notch.

Really enjoyed this book. I love the cowboys and hearing what was going on behind the scenes was as profoundly intriguing as it was disturbing.
