Great plot wonderful humor and characters I LOVED

What a awesome story of two people so different but yet so much alike when they come together sparks fly and love happens with some trying times in between. There is so much fun and laughter in this book but at the same time so much sadness, lose and confusion. Joss has lost so much from the home away from home she misses so much but what she misses more is her mother and the love her whole family shared. Now it is just her, her sister and father who are trying to find peace in a world where they have lost so much. Ben is handsome, use to women falling for him but he is very caring. What both he and Joss have in common is shyness, a feeling over life being too much and trying to work out things in their lives.

Ms. Wynne does and outstanding narration with her character voice that give deep sexy tones to her males and lovely sweet sexy ones to her females. Her emotions are wonderful she has such a caring tone but can still reach those angry and lost ones very well. She brings true emotions to the listen that pull you in giving you a story you can buy into making it real. I loved how she brought out the fathers off the wall humor really making it a fun listen. She showed how truly caring each family member was and how so how painful it was to lose those you love. There are no background noises, no repeating of words, and no volumes changes just a truly enjoyable clean and clear listen. Her performance was outstanding which made this a win, win listen for me.

The author gives a compelling story of passion from different points on many different things. The love and lost of a dear mother, as well as the country they all adored. Each feel the loss in a different way but each are trying their best to support the other. I loved the father his off the wall humor matches my own so it was very easy to relate to him. Joss’s sister was fun but you sure could feel her pain. I have to say my heart went out to Joss the most because she is torn from the loss of her mother, supporting her family and still wanting to go back and support her adopted family. She sure does love it in the small village in New Guinea. She isn’t ready for love and thinks Ben is a play boy being able to pick any women he wants. Ben isn’t really into the one and only love but finds her very attractive and wants to get to know her better. He isn’t ready for her to turn him down and he isn’t giving up. He falls fast and hard, I really like how he deals with it all and do love his pigeon and how that came to be. I had many laughs over their time together. His origami takes my breath away and what he uses it for really is great. I really loved the buildup of this romance it was steady but easy. The two families help work it out with a few surprises along the way. I loved their day trip and how that plays out. Ben does have a few tricks up his sleeve. I loved the humor all throughout the book, the plot was outstanding, the characters even better.

Bottom line this was an outstanding read that really holds your attention pulling you in from the first page, keeps you smiling and laughing as well as giving you some sorrow and pain. This is the only audio the author has at this time I sure hope there will be more. I enjoyed this so much I bought the other two in the series. Now to just find the time to read them, they do sound as awesome as this one. I believe most people will truly enjoy the read. If you love humor it is a must. I do hope you will pick it up and you enjoy it as much as I did.

Move over Hallmark Channel

I love that this is a story I could listen to with anyone, including my grandmother. Sometimes you just need that wholesome story that hits you in the feels. Thank you for such a wonderful story. I also enjoyed Sara's job at narrating the story. The way she makes the characters come to life is incredible.

Awesome Story!!

This story is set in the Windy of Chicago. It is about Joss Palmateer who grew up in a Papua New Guinea mission who is dealing with living in the U.S and the sudden death of her mother. She definitely has a different view on life and is not looking to fall in love. She doesn't have a social life until she meets her friends brother Ben Montgomery a sexy Physical Therapist. She ignores his advances but, he gets some help from a homing pigeon [that became Ben's pet], family and an old origami legend he attempts to win Joss' love. If you want to know what happens/ turns out you really need to read or listen to Paper Love!!

A sweet, wholesome romance

Paper Love, Book 2 in the Chicago Christmas series by Aubrey Wynne is standalone, wholesome romance. It's sweet and innocent, though Ms. Wynne does add a twist what with some of the things that Joss and Her family are dealing with. Ben is Joss' best friends brother and he completely falls for Joss. Joss is super sweet and dealing with family loss and also has her heart closed off due to an unworthy ex. Without giving away any spoilers, Ben does everything almost perfectly to win Joss' heart. You'll obviously get your HEA at the end of the book. I took at star off because everything felt a little too perfect and I felt that the story was fairly predictable, at least to me.

Sara Sheckells did a good job voicing the various male and female characters. She even had unique voices for Joss, Becky and Laura, as well as Ben and Dan, which made listening and differentiating the characters even easier. If you're looking for a vanilla short and sweet romance, I think you'll enjoy this one. Also worth noting, the series is A Chicago Christmas, though the story doesn't focus or really revolve around Christmas, so it's a good listen anytime of the year! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Sweet & Christmassy

Wynne has written a very sweet Christmassy story to get you in the season! Joss is trying to heal from some family hurt and loss when she meets Ben. Ben is initially this kind of douchey person who is a player of women. She obviously doesn’t trust him, but there is more to Ben than we initially see. He is sweet and very loyal, once he stops his player act. I really enjoyed following along with their romance and felt hope for them to heal each other while I was listening! It gave me all the Christmas and lovey dovey feels 🙂 I’d give it a 4/5 stars!

For the audio I really enjoyed Sheckells and how she voiced both Joss and Ben. She had a clear, steady voice. I enjoyed her pacing and where she paused. The characters certainly came more alive under her voice and I could tell Sheckells was into the story that she was reading to me. I really loved it! I give it 5/5 stars!

Sweet and Wholesome Romance

Very sweet, wholesome romance. This is a sweet romance, and I enjoyed it! Loved that this story is based off real life people! I listened to the audio version of the story, and the narrator does a good job. Joss' family used to live in Papua New Guinea, but after the death of her mother, Joss and her family moved back to the states. Joss is still having a difficult time with the death of her mother, and has put up some walls because of it, and also because of a jerk of an ex. Joss is a bit quirky, and says some weird things at times, but that's just because she grew up in a different type of place. Joss meets Ben, the brother of one of her friends, at one of his monthly singles parties. She's attracted to Ben, but doesn't think he's right for her. Which I totally get, he seemed a little too charming for his own good and his monthly singles parties didn't exactly say he's looking for a committed relationship, so I was with Joss on not falling for his charming ways right away. Ben feels something for Joss beyond just a passing fancy, so he's willing to do what he needs to in order to win Joss' heart. Loved the origami angle, and found the story interesting. The story left me with a wonderful feeling.

Beautiful story with sweet narration makes it

Was beautiful. Joss had a view of the world around through the eyes of one with a gentle soul and a broken heart. Ben comes in and Joss life was not the same. She began to live again. And we get a few moments with a pigeon and origami. Need I say more. This was a very quick read that satisfied the holiday required romance.

Narrator Review of . . . PAPER LOVE (A Chicago Christmas) . . . Sara did a good job relaying this romance with all it nuances. She allowed for her voice to set the tone and carry you through.

Great read that you can relate to!

What makes a story a great read is one that you can feel the realness in and this story provides that. I listened to this story in one sitting because I didn't want to stop listening. The narrator brought the story to life and added to the sweet romance the story offered. The characters were easily distinguished and the recording was clear.
