As a condition of buying the house and property at a bargain price, Meg and her boyfriend not only are stuck with an endless list of vital repairs but also the sale of all the countless collections of oddities left behind by the previous owner at her death. Bad enough, but all of the stuff has to be watched over and the money gained shared by the former owner's relatives! So a vast yard sale is organized and all of Meg's relatives set up their booths as well. It's crazy enough, but gets infinitely worse when Gordon-You-Thief is discovered dead in a trunk in the barn. Good sleuthing with plenty of lying suspects, plot twists, and red herrings! Lots of fun!
Bernadette Dunne continues to be a great narrator.

Book Is A 5++++, narration Is A 2 At Best

Storyline is great! Donna Andrews' mysteries are not just outrageously funny. The suspense is entertaining; all of the characters are vividly brought to life. All of this is done while keeping the story moving on at an excellent pace. Even though each book is a stand alone,it truly enriches the series if you start at the beginning. Highly recommend you pick up Murder Is Hatched.
Although Bernadette Dunne does have good pacing & emotion, her "voices" just aren't...... She has a strong twang in her voice that carries over to every character (no matter where they're from). Also, the female & male voices have very little difference. If it weren't for Ms. Andrews' staging, you wouldn't know which character was talkiing most of the time.

Wonderful mystery series for animal lovers

Meg and her boyfriend Michael are having a huge yard sale to empty out the house they just bought with the life long collections of junk from the previous resident, so renovations can start.

Things get complicated though when a local antique dealer is found stuffed in an old trunk.

The yard sale is shut down and a cat and mouse game starts finding the killer.

Great cozy mystery series for animal lovers with lots of humor and a little sarcasm mixed in for good measure.

A real gem, one of her best!

Another creative setting, this time a giant yard sale as Meg and Michael struggle to get rid of the hoarded junk left by their new house's former owner. You might run the risk of spending a week cleaning out your basement after reading Meg's battle against the armies of clutter!

This volume introduces several characters who become key cast members later in the series, in unique and charming ways. There are references to events in previous books, as well as set-up for future developments. The plot is clever, with both logic and unexpected twists. The characters, Donna Andrews' specialty, are interesting (and *not* the way Meg's mother uses the word!) and quirky.

As always, Bernadette Dunn does an excellent job bringing Meg and company to life. You can almost always tell who is speaking before names are given, and her voice is expressive and easy on the ears, enunciated clearly without sounding the least bit stilted.

An excellent addition to the series, whether read or listened to!

Owl want to reread this book many times!

I was pleasantly surprised to see an older book in this series be released in the audio format. I ordered it the second I knew it was available and greatly enjoyed hearing it for the first time. This is a story about a flea market on steroids. Their new house is still full of many unwanted, yet interesting items after the antique dealers have bought everything they wanted. Meg's entire family gets involved in an epic yard sale with many family members selling everything from collectible figurines to antique textiles. Mix in a dash of owl pellets and women's lingerie and you end up with murder. This is a whirlwind adventure with some suspense and a whole lot of laughter. I highly recommend this book and hope that more of the original books in the series will also be released on Audible!
