Lucid creativity

Mr. Carey can write…well…anything!
I have always found characters fully drawn. They are-well-real “characters”- particularly the women. They are smart, funny, unique, irascible people. As a woman, I appreciate that. The story develops quickly and the drama is intermingled with humor that is gentle but pointed. Stephanie Cannon took his written word and threw it into my ear instantly…perfect rate and character voice. She flew between characters’ talking without one glitch. Her capacity to jump between each is fast and FLAWLESS- voice, rate, intonation - all specific to each character. Now to wait for his next…rats.

Story, characters, creativity... This book is wonderful

MR 'Mike' Carey is one of the best authors I've ever read, this book is another reason to love this author. The story, the characters, the voice actor... are all I could ask for. I'm toward the end of another book that I love so far, but started this one and finished it before I even remembered I had this other book to finish. I can't wait for the next book MR Carey writes, this book was special, I simply loved it.

Love that it is in the same world as Infinity Gate!

A great space opera western

Extremely well read by the narrator. The transitions between characters was great. As to the author, I liked how he changed perspectives and gradually backfilled the story.

Fantastic, Complicated Characters

Loved it-a great, interesting by story and two complex protagonists. Quite a different type of story, which you can count on from Carey.
