A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

With tyranid hive fleets approaching, the Carcharodons make a stand on the world of Piety V. If they can stop the xenos here, they will be able to end the menace before it begins.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

The most inhuman and brutal Chapter of Space Marines get a first hand look at the common people they fight to protect, and the results are surprising.

THE STORY

The Carcharodons’ remit is an unenviable one – this Chapter of Space Marines plies the dark areas of space, endlessly hunting down the enemies of mankind. Living on the edge, with no fixed base of operations, they are creatures shaped by their environment, renowned for their ruthlessness and their brutality. With a fresh wave of tyranid hive fleets approaching the galactic plane, the Carcharodons decide to use the world of Piety V as a bulwark. If they can stop the xenos here, they will be able to end the menace before it begins. But as they mobilise the planet’s defenders, and fight the tyranids, the Carcharodons come to learn what the value of mankind truly is.

Good story but narrator or makes it more boring than it actually is. It was hard to follow sometimes as a result

Good, but for the narrator

What an amazing Novel, not only for 40K, but for the entire Science Fiction genre! Robbie brings us back into the world of the Space Sharks… the unsung heroes of Space Marines, and I still hope Games Workshop gives us a Carcharadon Army someday!

Another 40K Win by Robbie!

Tyberos makes his appearance in this volume, but make no mistake this is still Reaper Prime Shar's show, and he's changed in the ten years (in universe) since the last book. But so has a young psyker now librarian and a surprise return of a character from the first book, now in the retinue of the investigating Inquisitor from the wraparound story of the first book.

The story is well written, with the right amount of self-aware 16 yr old edginess to the writing but laced with relish instead of ashamed irony. The Carcharadons are unapologetic in their existence and go where they must in the story as we follow the 3rd Company do their duties.

The final third of the book is an extra treat for those that want to see a Genestealer Cult pulling off one of their plans "generations in the making".

Finally the narrator: A+, no notes, he lends an exaggerated but somehow appropriate amount of gravitas to everything and you can distinguish who is talking when.

The 3rd Company really steps in it
