Three credits for one book...

The story is good sci fi, and the narrator is good, but this is actually one book, split into three parts. Each part isn't very long for my credit buck. I feel ripped off.

A Ripoff!

Fabulous book and narrator. But $13 for 6 hours each is too much! Why break it up?!

Basically a credit scam

Fun, simple story brought to life by Roy Porter. If it weren't for his abilities, I wouldn't have given this second book a listen.

As it stands, however, I can't justify spending two more credits to finish the "space opera."

I'll just find other books narrated by him at a reasonable value of time listening per credit.

Entertaining Space Opera

It has what you'd expect from a space opera, a crew of a ship crash landing onto a foreign planet due to sabotage and now they must figure out the mysteries and dangers of this strange, but an inhabitable new world.

I agree it would be nice if the books had more closure, not forcing the reader to have to move along to the next book in the series in order to figure out what happens. But most books do this, right? At least those written with a series theme in mind. Anyway, the writing is suited to my liking in terms of banter, humor, danger, etc. Sure, we have to suspend disbelief with all of the action, but most sci-fi is like that. And I love Ray Porter's narration. He is one of my favorites and my initial reason why I got into this space opera series in the first place.

Moving along to the next book.

Another great book

Great follow up to the first book, if I had to add my option for something I dislike its that the story moves on fast, I wish there was some more world and settlement building and more character development, it would have drawn the books out more but over I’m still very satisfied.

Closer to a short story

I love this storyline and cast. However, this book was one tiny adventure. I wish these stories were a bit longer.

Update from my review of book 1

Minor spoiler,

We did learn more but in a way that does not benefit character development. We mainly learned by the way of dreams. This bypasses the potential bonding in forming a new relationship. Instead of telling Stacy, he really did not open up about anything to her.

So they killed a snake but do they process and test it for consumption? A major priority should be safe water and an edible food source. In order to do that local plant and animal life need to be tested for consumption. Many aspects of this book seems forced. There is a good storyline but the execution is poor.

This series is not worth a credit, nor the 7 most unlimited are.Given the quality of the writing and lack of development it's at the perfect price point.

Holes holes everywhere.

slow pace, myopic characters and a plot that changes with every other chapter. Ray Pirter us the only good part about this book. The basic idea and premise had so much potential but the authors blew it in my opinion. All the five star reviews have to be from friends and family or second graders.

Another Goood One!

More of the same fantastic work! The further exploration of the planet in this book is a heck of a fun ride! Much excitement for the next book!

Still a never ending serial not a novel.

This part (2) still ended with much to be resolved. In fact practically nothing resolved. However by now I expected no more and am looking forward to listening to part 3 to bring this 3 part novel to a conclusion.

Also the narrator seems a little less droning and probably I am a little more used to him.

For those reasons I liked part two more than part one. I do not give many five star reviews but this one still has that potential.
Part three can make or brake this novel.

Really enjoyed the series so far, heard 1 to 3. Hopefully will be many more.
Its great how Ray Porter gives each character a different voice.
