Publisher's summary

A bullet stole her husband.

A medical breakthrough just might bring him back.

Andrea Cole’s life shattered the night her husband was shot. The bullet didn’t kill him, but it left him unable to retain new memories. Essentially, he became stuck in time—at least until a medical breakthrough offers her a glimpse of hope.

Preston Morgan wakes in the hospital with a 10-year gap in his memory. His kid sister is now grown and married, and he has no clue why Andrea Cole, a soldier he’d trained with in the army, is at his hospital bedside. Andi no longer seems like the cold, no-nonsense soldier he’d served with on the battlefield. She makes him laugh, and, heaven help him, she makes him want.

Andi promises the doctor she won’t force Preston’s recovery by telling him of their past—but she agrees to wait only one month. Yet as the pair grow close again, keeping their marriage a secret eats at her. How can she keep the truth from him, especially knowing there’s a snaggletooth little boy at home desperate to meet a father he’s never truly known?

Living and Loving After a TBI

Imagine suddenly waking up and realizing that ten years have passed, but you have no memory of them. That's what happened to the hero. He suffered a traumatic brain injury while saving his sister from their violent father. Some pretty cool nanobot technology exists in this slightly altered version of our reality, and these nanobots are slowly repairing his brain. For these past years, he hasn't been able to hold a memory for longer than a day. But as the book opens, the nanobots have done enough repair so that he can retain current memories and is starting to rebuild old ones. So he has no idea that he ever fell in love with and married one of his fellow soldiers and that they have a young son.

As you might imagine, much of the story is heart-wrenching. You can't help but feel for everyone in this story as they try to get their lives back on track. The doctors ask his wife and family to hold back on details about his prior life for a month so that he can get acclimated to his new reality without being overwhelmed. It's very hard for his wife, as you might imagine, not to be able to reveal they are married and have a child. (For most of the book, the hero incorrectly believes that she was married to an old Army buddy of theirs and that this now-deceased friend is the father of her son.) Early on, she determines to seduce him anew so that they can start to build their relationship even before he knows everything. There's a secondary plot involving an imperiled young girl who's very reminiscent of the hero’s sister and the danger they went through as children because of their father. I found the entire story compelling, and the characters extremely sympathetic. It was a satisfying, if sometimes heartbreaking, listen.

Operation Remember Us!

This is the second story in the "Texas Hearts" series and can be read or listened to as a stand alone one. The story is tragic, heartfelt and emotional. It keeps the reader/listener engaged wondering what will come next. The story is about Andrea and Preston. These two were in the military together, fell in love and married. Now he has been shot and is missing a large chunk of his life and their life together. This story really pulls at your heart strings. I think the narrator did a great job bringing the story and characters to life. The story is nicely developed and I love the characters.

Operation Remember Us

Operation Remember Us by Staci Warren is a good, and enjoyable sweet military romance read. The story has a great story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. This is Andera and Preston's story. They get a chance to fall in love again when Preston loses his memories. This is a very wonderful read with facing life obstacles, and coming out the other side better and stronger than ever. The story narration is done very well.

Falling in love again

This is a sweet love story. When Preston loses his memories, Andrea and Preston get a chance to fall in love again. The heart knows the other, even when the mind does not. Wonderful story of facing their own life obstacles, and coming out the other side stronger than ever. I am looking forward to the next book. Narration was well done.

Awesome Read!

it starts off with a punch. and it's a short and satisfying read. I love these characters, I love the diversity, I loved the story, and how it all comes together. I read the first one a while ago, which was also a fantastic read, but this story can even be read as a standalone.
