It started good

great characters and world is great also but then as story get more into couples relationship developing, the demon fall of into the far background with mentions of the threat but never how they were defeated, the demon true goal never and if there was a witch helping the badies or not. Then the werid placement of aware jewel that went to head of cove but thats it. Why was the magic jewely even in the book. So sad it started so very good and then just became relationship fingerout story.

A Little Disconnect

Overall solid 3.5. the story started really well, but there were plot devices that came up once but then never made an appearance again or not fully explained. Like the demons became somewhat of a background as far as their purpose and the amulet that Cass was given in the beginning. but the slow burn was nice and mmm was a nice change. I am glad though that the shifter wasnt a werewolf as so many shifter stories are. I would hope that book 2 dives deeper into the purpose of the OP so ill definitely read it when it comes out

Lost the plot

The book seems to forgot what story its trying to tell at times. The main theme seems to take a backseat to the characters trying to bone each other. And thats another part of the problem with the story. Every time the MCs share an intimate moment, whether its a kiss, a hug or even just a touch to their neck, it is turned sexual instantly. There are almost no scenes where one of the characters is touching the other that isn't interrupted by a mention that one or all of the involved parties are getting hard. It cheapens the experience of characters trying to grow to trust each other when they are constantly thinking about fu*king the other people involved. How am I supposed to believe a character has complex feeling about someone, when those feelings boil down to "Im horny and want to bang him, but dont know him yet."
