This book was one of the best books I have had the pleasure of listening to in a while. The narrator did an excellent job of the southern accent. There is nothing worse than a botched southern accent in an audiobook. It is easy to listen to and hard to turn off. I was sad when it was over. Like I lost a friend... :)

good book, excellent narrator

This was a good audible-- the narrator was wonderful. Started out very light and brought back memories as the era of the book was the same as my high school years. Well done characters. The end was not what I was expecting and the themes were different from what I expected but the book was very well done.

Unbelievably great book!

Mark Childress is a genius writer in the same vein as southern greats, Faulkner, Capote, and O'Connor. This book is away ahead of its time when written and is as relevant today as any contemporary work out there. It's story telling at its best. Get the book!

There isn`t enough starts for this one!

One Mississippi is for sure one of funniest books of all time, period. It is a fast moving book and very easy to listen to. The narrator Jeff Woodman really does a great job impersonating all the different characters of the story. I really felt in love with the drama of the principal character, Daniel Musgrove and had to keep listen to it many times after the first run because this is one of those books that we wish will never end. This is the ultimate teen tragic comedy of the seventies. Really worth listening at this one. As for me all I can say is that I can`t stop listen to it over and over.

You never know what twist will come next!!

Would you consider the audio edition of One Mississippi to be better than the print version?

This book kept me hooked the whole way through to the end. It is definitely one of my favorite listens!! Great job!

One Mississippi

This book was a very good book. This is not one of those books where you can predict the ending. It is super spontaneous and I loved the story line. Definitely worth the time to read.

The main character was my absolute favorite! I really loved his observations of life in the South and will never forget his colorful family!

Really worth listening at this one. As for me all I can say is that I can`t stop listen to it over and over again.

What happened at the end?

Throughout the novel the reader is enthralled with the main character’s thoughts and feelings. But at the end when the most significant challenge in his life happens, his feelings are not as intense and deep. And why does he not think about his sister when “it” is actually happening? (It-don’t want to ruin the novel for those who have not read it)
However, the story ends where another novel can begin. I want to see where the author takes the protagonist.
