About this listen
In her quest to share her ancient knowledge, Earth Thunder meets River Singing, a slave girl who becomes her apprentice, as does Helle. They build a new temple of learning in the Deer Lodge Valley of the Montana Territory. There they live by the old wisdom of life: One is the sun, Two is the Earth....Five is the human self.
When enemies threaten to destroy them all, the Deer Lodge people will fight bravely - and leave their mark in time.

Critic reviews
"Taps into both the current frenzy for goddess lore and renewed interest in American Indians....illuminating." ( San Francisco Chronicle)
Its about beauty, health, love and spirit. The inspired strength, courage and minds of the native American people and some settlers. A great culture and tradition with a history spanning thousands of years, an appreciation of Earth Mother, the building of a Medicine Wheel.
It also depicts the horror of greed, carnage, and lust, of another type of settler. Prime among these is the evil, dressed up as spirit, in the dog collars of organised religion. These were instrumental in the destruction of all that was sacred in the pagan nature-spirituality.
The author had something to say, and she said it extremely well. The reader’s emotions are tugged every which way. Well written, and well narrated, I found every minute of this audiobook worthwhile. I’ve been wishing, for many years, that I could make contact with some of these amazing native people, but a book like this is the closest I can get. I loved it!
GREAT SPIRIT!
