Publisher's summary

On the Rocks is a stand-alone, small-town country romance in the Becker Brothers Series.

Noah Becker is nothing but trouble.

That's what Mama told me when I was a kid, kicking his pew in church and giggling at the games we'd play. It's what the town said when his father died and the Becker brothers went wild. And it's on repeat in my mind the day I walk into the whiskey distillery where he works to buy a wedding gift for my fiancé.

He's trouble.

Dirty, sweaty, rude trouble.

No matter how many times I repeat it, I can't escape Noah in our small Tennessee town. And the more I run into him, the more he infuriates me.

Because he sees what no one else does.

He sees me - the real me.

The me I'm not sure I'm allowed to be.

I'm Ruby Grace Barnett, the mayor's daughter. Soon to be a politician's wife, just like Mama and Daddy always wanted. Soon to fulfill my family's legacy, just like I always knew I would.

Until the boy everyone warned me about makes me question everything, like whether the wedding I'm planning is one I even want.

Everyone says Noah Becker is nothing but trouble.

If only I had listened.

Love KS

I have been putting off reading this series until all three books were out. I knew I would want to binge read them, as Kandi just has a way of making you fall in love with her characters. On the Rocks was exactly what I needed right now with everything going on in the world. I really loved the romance between Ruby Grace and Noah. I did want a little more around the bad boy Noah though as you really do not get much about his back story (besides with his family). Speaking of family, I really enjoyed how positive Noah and his family life was portrayed. He had a positive relationship with both his mother and deceased father. The little glimpses we get into this story were very heart warming. This one is hard for me to explain. So much happens with Ruby Grace, but not much really happens within the story at the same time. I do not know how to explain that though. I am really happy to know there are several more books following the brothers though. You get very little of them within this story and I was expecting a little more buildup. Overall, I still really loved this one and cannot wait to jump into the next one.

Notebook, meet Sweet Home Alabama

Narration was good. Chemistry between the couple was good. The story has a lot of familiar themes and reminded me of The Notebook and Sweet Home Alabama combined. What was similar? Well, there was an old-folks home, Southern living, a girl dealing with high family expectations, a difficult finance from a political family, and an adorable and strong female lead who is with the wrong guy for the right reasons. I loved both of those referenced stories, so I also enjoyed listening to this, even though it was predictable.

Great narration and good writing, but couldn't give 5 stars due to lack of originality.

Adult content: A few descriptive sexual scenes. Appropriately placed and well written. For this reader they are not overdone and add to the story. For those who are sensitive, they are very graphic.

Sweet story

This book was sweet and the narration was good. It isn’t going to change your life but it did have some good life lessons. My only problem was the age of Ruby Grace. I don’t understand why the author decided to have her be 19. Why not 20 or 21? It wouldn’t have changed the story whatsoever. I was uncomfortable with her age. Technically she’s still a teenager, just saying. Otherwise it was a good read with some cute moments and lovable characters. Noah was literally the perfect man that all women dream about having.

Love!!!

I just loved this book so freaking much!!! I’m so mad for waiting this long, but super happy that I finally read it. I love Noah and the rest of these Becker boys are really going to have to work to beat him out as my favorite Becker.

I love how this book shows that you can have love and follow your dreams, even if your dreams take you away from your love for a little while.

I can’t wait to see what comes next!!!

Small town romance

Kandi Steiner is one of my one-clicked authors because I love her famous emotional roller coaster that will leave you with all the feels. On the Rocks was on the lighter side of angst but it still has everything that I love – a little drama, lots of swoony moments, a small town in the country and a loving family. I absolutely love this intense, heartwarming and meaningful story.

The saddest thing in life must be when you have found the right person but at the wrong time. The connection and attraction between Noah and Ruby Grace was expected due to their age and status difference, but they felt so right together. The push and pull between them were intense and I loved the candid friendship that they have formed before their slow-burning and angsty romance. I admired Ruby Grace’s bravery and swooned over Noah’s selflessness and thoughtfulness.

I can always find a life lesson in Kandi’s story and this story is no different. I’ve learned from this story that when you truly love someone, you should help him/her flourish and soar in life. One can be and should be in love and be love at the same time without sacrificing one’s dream.

I’m in love with this sweet small-town romance and I love the Becker brothers. I cannot wait to return to the charming town of Stratford, Tennessee to see what Logan’s up to next. This is a wonderful start of a series and I would highly recommend it.

Laurie Catherine Winkel and David Vaughn brought the story to live.

Too much smirking

Kind of far-fetched plot, but still a sweet book. I just got so tired of everyone smirking.

Southern gentleman.

I have so many emotions reading this book. It’s so full of twists and turns they keep me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put the book down, I absolutely love the story. Noah, a southern gentleman with all the charms that’ll melt hearts. He’s a great hero, supportive, encouraging, respectful and so loving. Ruby Grace, though she’s a little young but she’s fierce. And with Noah’s help she’s able to spread her wings and find her calling. Great book.
