Because Hugh is tall, dark...and nothing but trouble.

Hugh is anxious to get back in the field after an act of heroism left him warming the bench. Until then, he and his K9 partner Lexi spend their hours teasing the town's mysterious newcomer. Critic Reviews

"The easy back and forth banter between the characters makes this a satisfying romance with just the right level of intrigue. Well done!" ( RT Book Reviews)

Needs better narrating.

Her reading is choppy and pauses are in the wrong points. There is no difference between one voice or another. I kept wanting to coach her as to how to add inflection in the tone to enhance the story. That being said the story was great it kept my interest all the way through from one exciting scene to the next.

Too much internal dialogue

The story was interesting but could have been told in less time, a lot of internal dialogue interrupting interesting action scenes. The narration is choppy, it's like she throws in commas at random, places in the, middle of, a sentence. But overall the story ended up being worth bearing the odd narration style.

On the Chase

THe narrator did an excellent job infusing excitement & tension in the proper places. The story was well plotted out but the main reason I buy these books is to see the dogs at work & the interaction with their handlers. The 1st book in the series was a little light on that & so was this one. Dogs can have huge personalities but there wasn't much shown. Lexi needed a bigger role in the everyday lives of the main characters, imo.

Couldn't finish - I will be returning.

The same over-flogged storyline as the other books in the series. Very disappointing.
Don't waste your credit.

Narration is unbearable.

Narration is unbearable. listened to the whole book hoping I would get comfortable but never did. Interpretation of studdering character is shocking, - it sounded more like the voice someone would use when making fun of shuddering. I wish I could unhear the whole thing.

I dont know what to say about the story - I was too distracted with the narration. Bummer, cause I have really enjoyed this author. Suggest you get this one on Kindle but "Gone to Deep" by Katie Ruggle on Audible was narrated very well and is a delightful story, in fact that whole series is done well.

Amazing

Ahh! So many people says it’s the same as book 1 but it isn’t! It’s brand new and totally keeps you entranced! I’ve caught myself literally stopping what I’m doing to sit and listen to what’s going to happen next! I can’t believe I’ve found this author!! She’s amazing!

not a favorite

Struggled with this one. Grace wasn't a woman easy to like. Snarky, sarcastic, and rude, she didn't have a gracious bone in her body.

Multi-storyline book that keeps you listening

I didn't want to stop listening and had to use some serious self-control to go to bed. As the third book in the series, I'm still engaged in it and ready to immediately go on to book four. The characters are themselves are engaging, the action is continuous, and the continuing storyline with the same Police K-9 unit and the characters from previous stories has bonded me to them. Wonderful series; it's also pretty clean in language and sexual content too. Definitely a recommendation from me to listen/read this book/series.

sweet. funny, charming!

Hugh was a brilliant character in the first book. Getting to know him better in this one was great. He's funny, charming, mischevious, sexy and totally delicious! I just want to steal him away, cuffs, dog and all! Great story with good twists. Can't wait for the next one!!

Suspensful and quite a bit of action.

Where does On the Chase rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would not say it was in my top ten but it was a very enjoyable read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On the Chase?

Enjoyed all of it really, can't think of a moment that really stood out.

What does Callie Beaulieu bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She's a very good norater and gives the characters personality and voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was, although not one of my favourite was very hard to put down.

Any additional comments?

Fantastic series, will be looking to get more by this author in the future.
