Great Story; Horrible Narration

As usual, the people living in Monroe are well-blended keeping the main characters front and center. I love the addition of puppies intermixed with the rescue dog and the retired dog. It was exciting for Otto to have his turn finding "his woman."

Spoiler alert.... what a shock about the police chief; didn't see that one coming.

Please, the narration is horrific. Choppy, kinda makes you sea-sick. Let's get a new one please.

Heart Stopping Action

Fantastic book. For those who were looking for answers after book one, I suggest you keep reading this series. Each book is filled with romantic but unique characters, with enough sap, to make you smile and enough heart stopping action, that you might not have anymore nails. Cannot wait for all of these characters stories to be told. Love, love, love this series!

Best in series so far!

This is the best in the series so far, it brings together the stories from the last two books and allows us to get to know all the other characters and town's folk even better. It's better than the last two books because it's faster paced and gets to the action and interesting parts of the story earlier. Even though Sarah is initially terrified like Jules and Grace were, its not dwelt on an agonizingly repetitive way. Sarah is brave and makes some really difficult decisions when she needs to, she isn't just waiting to be saved by Otto. Instead of all the whiny woe-is-me internal dialogue that was in the first two books, Sarah's internal dialogue is more about her getting the fear under control, assessing the situation and making a plan. Also really liked that we got know all the animals, their different personalities, how they helped Sarah and how she courageously helped them.

Narration: Still terribly choppy and goes from loud to soft and back too often. I'm only still listening because now I'm invested in the little town and want to know what happens to the characters.

Volume control please

Too loud, too soft, too loud, too soft. Can’t get into the book because I’m too busy changing the volume. Like the authors books but I don’t like being screamed at.

Will they survive the night?

A group of cops some with k9 partners. A houseful of women who have escaped unbelievable lives to resettle with the help of someone in the dark. The cops may not know their stories but the women are strong, sexy and draw them like no others. Who can resist hot guys with dogs they love and use to protect others. Especially when they are desperately in need of protection.

Each man has a woman he's drawn to with a past she doesn't want to share. Otto is literally speechless when he meets Sarah. Eventually, the two find their words and each other. Otto has his own person rescue farm. His menagerie draws Sarah, the fact he is so tender and caring. She shows just how much when she must SURVIVE THE NIGHT.

This series is good. I was drawn by the k9 aspect and am in for the long run.

Loved this one! Great story!

Absolutely loved this one! It was really good and pulled me in from beginning to end. I loved getting to know Sarah and seeing her strength as she worked to escape and stay free from her brother and that life that she was forced into. She is ready to break free from the control and abuse she has been suffering from her brother and takes the chance when it is offered. I loved watching her connect with Otto as well. They were so cute and I love the way that the two were drawn together and how they both went about building their relationship. Otto is so great with Sarah and the animals that he rescues and helps and is such a calming and safe space for them. Otto did such a great job of building and being a safe space for Sarah and being protective without going to far and making it feel like a prison/too controlling. People are still coming after Sarah and she is learning how to fight for her freedom and not give up and figuring out who she can rely on in her new town. This story definitely had a little more action and intrigue with the people coming after Sarah and things starting to come to a head with the different crime families and the connections that get made and then the invasion. I was really engaged and truly enjoyed the story and the characters. Excited for the next one and to see where things go.
The narrator did a good job with the story and bringing it to life.

Overall a pretty good story. action packed. However too much sex that is just not necessary.

Great Book

I love this series. It’s full of excitement, and danger. The volume is perfect, and the sex is so minimal, and very discrete. Good people who just want to live, and love. I love it when the narrator laughs. The narrator is excellent, and it’s so full of excitement, and emotion I’m sure you will love it.
