Jenna knows she's been framed. But how can she prove it from behind bars?

And then she finds out she is pregnant.

Roller Coaster from Start to Finish

Wow, this book is pretty great. On My Life had me hooked from the beginning and hanging on for MY life. The adventures of Jenna, the "Blonde Slayer," in prison, are gripping, as she navigates her way through a brutal system on remand, awaiting trial and has only herself to rely on to save her from a life sentence if she cannot show a court that she didn't commit a horrible crime. Frankly, I couldn't stop listening. This book is intense and grabs on to your basic instincts of survival as you follow Jenna's story. The narration is spot on. Loved it and highly recommend!

A story about prison life in the UK

If you are looking for a day by day of what prison life is like in a woman's prison in the UK this is your book. If you just want the real story in this book, read the first few chapters and then skip ahead to chapter 78 and listen to the rest and you will have the whole story minus the prison stint the main character did. The so-called twist was not very good at all. I would recommend you NOT waste a credit on this one.

A compelling thriller with superior writing.

This book was very fast paced with well described action scenes and carefully chosen details. Overall, a tightly written thriller with a sympathetic heroine. Not enough clues to make it possible to figure major plot points out. Solid B+

Just okay

The storyline is different and gives the intensity of the setting of a prison environment. I listened to the end but really struggled to do this because of a few reasons. The repeated narrative of ‘my baby’ was incredibly annoying after a while. Maybe it wouldn’t have been as bad reading written text. The other issue was probably due to the fact that the bulk of the book was in a prison setting and the text was solely written from the main character’s perspective. This meant she repeatedly went over her thoughts, pondering, reasoning etc, making it a slow listen indeed. The additional prison storylines were tedious after a while too.

Should have been titled Prison Diaries

This was so disappointing as the background story to the character's reason for being in prison was fascinating. However, too much prison living, upsetting, depressing and repetitive. Did not expect this balance in the story and nearly gave up. The narrator, Sarah Durham, was excellent with a good strong voice and consistent delivery. Would listen to Sarah again but, hopefully, with a better book.

Good story but ...

Narration was excellent and the story line was good. But it seemed padded and then the end rushed.

No substance and padded with redundant fluff

Little to no substance most of the run time is padded with weighted similes about how she felt sick, was uncomfortable blah. Added nothing to the plot.

I was frustrated that the main character was so entitled she assumed the justice system procedure shouldn't apply to her - guilty or innocent, there's no special treatment. This book is just her complaining about how different or better she is from all the other incarcerated women.

The story was far fetched and made me want to hit my head of a brick wall. The conclusion made me question why I bothered to finish it.
