Publisher's Summary

Can broken be beautiful?

Ryker McCabe. Former Special Forces. Survived 15 months in an Afghan prison, tortured within an inch of his life. His scars - and his fears - keep him alone. Disconnected from the world. From his team. From any hope of redemption.

Until he meets her.

Wren Kane. Hacker extraordinaire. Desperately searching for her brother. When police find his body in a drug den, she knows there's more to his death than an overdose. He'd promised he was clean. And then, she finds the message he left her.

Wren's prepared to go it alone. Until she runs right into Ryker. He's the biggest, baddest man she's ever seen. And he's willing to risk his life to fulfill her brother's dying wish. But how can she trust him when he won't let her in?

When danger comes for Wren, Ryker jumps into action. No one hurts his little bird. Except maybe him. Because if he can't share his heart, he could lose her forever.

On His Six is a standalone, slow burn, dark military romance with several potential triggering scenes, including drug use and the brief threat of sexual violence.

All of the books in the Away From Keyboard series are standalone romances featuring a different couple, but past couples and characters do occasionally play active roles in future books.

His little bird... Sweet!

Aiden Snow playing Ryker, all alpha, masculine and dangerous was right on target for me. That deep voice gives me goosebumps....and I love it!
I also love it when the author recognizes when they have the right narrators for a series.
This is another Special Ops book with intrigue, mystery, topped off with some romance.
Ryker was definitely a badass dude with demons and the story tells us why. He dealt with some serious stuff.
I do love listening to Patricia Eddy's books especially when Aiden is narrating.
Ryker, dealing with his fears and scars and finally finding that balance he needed and his little bird made for a decent story.
Ryker was in the previous book "In Her Sights" (Aiden was excellent in that one too) but this one is all about Ryker!! Explains his attitudes from the other book. I can't use words like angst or epic because that's not the case here but I did enjoy it and I'm just a big Aiden Snow fan so I am a little biased too.

Heart Stopping

He's beyond redemption.

The years have taken their toll. Can Ryker put his world back together?

In the Special Forces, weakness isn't an option, but everyone has a breaking point.

After eighteen months of torture in an Afghan prison, Ryker escaped Hell. Six years later, alone and lost, he can't find his way back, and people are counting on him.

Tough guys can't ask for help.

And the nightmares are tearing him apart.

Wren Kane is a world-class hacker focused on one thing—fulfilling her brother's dying wish. She's alone, determined, and stubborn, despite the demons she battles every single day.

A chance meeting brings Wren and Ryker together, and she sees through his tough exterior to the pain he carries deep inside.

Will Ryker let her in?

You'll love this slow burn, dark military romance because there's something about a broken man that's unforgettable.

This book is heart stoppingly good. It is Brutally intense and I loved every minute of it. This book was well written and fast paced it was deliciously good to me. Aiden Snow and Grace Grant did a outstanding job of bring this high pace and greatly written book to life for me, Loved it!

Loved the book, loved the Audio book even more.

I love Patricia D. Eddy's books, especially the Away From Keyboard series. I have them all. I have rejected audio books for years, but I have recently tried a couple by other other authors and like them. Patricia did a great job choosing the narrator's for this book and they brought Ryker and Wren to life.

Such a great story of a broken man!

I LOVED Aiden Snow as the voice of Ryker in this book. He had just the right voice for a broken, wounded alpha male soldier who is just trying to find his way back to himself. Wren is computer coder who suffers from severe anxiety. The two of them finding their way to each other and healing each other just made my heart sing. The narrators work so well together, complimenting each other with their styles. I loved how Patricia D. Eddy brings such depth to the characters! To have such emotions, such trauma in both the MC's lives, it is just incredible. The different gestures that Wren does to cope with her anxiety. The way that Ryker behaves when confronted with emotion. Just incredible. Loved every second of this book.

Wow! Just... Wow!💜

Phenomenal story!! Absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking, love story. But so much more than that! Addressing important issues such as addiction, PTSD, broken families & friendships.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter!
I’m hoping this book is part of a larger series because there are so many amazing characters that seriously need their own story.
The narration was absolutely amazing and really portrayed the characters so realistically that I felt I was there.
This book has many possible triggers but it does have an HEA and I highly recommend it.
Note: As I’m posting this review I see it’s book 3. 😊

Loved it!

If you like Special Ops and ex military, then I think you will love this one! Ryker survived unthinkable torture in an Afghan prison and has scars that run deep. Those scars keep him detached from people and the world in general. Until he literally runs into Wren. Wren is investigating the death of brother. When that turns ugly, Ryker insists on helping her.

This book kept listening until the very end. I was hanging on every word, waiting to see how it all plays out. Lots of suspense and and pretty steamy.

Aiden and Grace did a great job narrating! They brought Wren and Ryker to life!

Good

On His Six was a good book. I liked the story of Ryker, this wounded and scarred soldier who went through hell and miraculously survived, and Wren, a hacker genius on an impossible mission to fulfill a promise to her late brother. While working together Wren found the key to Ryker's blackened heart and proved that after all he'd been through, he still had a soul.
I liked the writing, it was really entertaining. My only complaint is there were a few references to previous missions - I assume were the storylines in the previous two books - what seemed to have made big impacts on some of the characters' lives but were never elaborated. As I considered this story a standalone I would have liked a few additional sentences there to be able to understand what situations the characters were referring to. Other than that I really enjoyed Wren and Ryker's story.

Out of the two narrators I liked Aiden Snow's parts better. I liked how he brought Ryker's character to life. His female voice was also very good. His speech was a lot clearer, more to my liking. Grace Grant's narration wasn't my favorite. She captured Wren's anxiety in her narration but still, I had a hard time warming up to her way of speaking. It was more slurred and a little less understandable. I'm not sure if it was a recording issue or she has such heavily veiled voice.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!

I received this audiobook free, as an Audiobook Obsession Review, for an honest review. I loved this book. It was a tiny bit dark, but that is just because of Rye's Special Forces background and history. At least Wren is not unaccustomed to his world. The suspense of this story kept me listening from the first word until the last. I couldn't stop. There was too much going on to stop listening. The author did an excellent job with the characters and the story. The narrators were also awesome. I felt like I was right there. They are truely actors. They actually played these characters in a movie in my head. Wonderful package with the story and the narrators.

I loved this!!!

This was a great listen!!! A story of intrigue and suspense, which I am very fond of.

These characters are not perfect, they are damaged and flawed, and they just fit!! They are family! Each one of them has their own demons and nightmares, and each finds someone to soothe them.

I loved this from the beginning! #Patricia Eddy did a fantastic job writing these characters and their story. #Aiden Snow and #Grace Grant were an awesome choice for the narration.

Go and listen to this... it’s good!!! I promise!

Loved it so much, ace narration

Ohhhhhhh Aiden Snow is Ryker!!!! He brings him to life so beautifully. Just. Wow! Grace Grant does a great job with her part of the narration bring Wren beautifully to life. I have to hold my hands up and say I could have happily listened to just Aiden for the whole book!

I read this book when it first came out and loved it. The audiobook adds so much to it, just wow. I love this story, Ryker is so very broken. But then again so is Wren. I love watching how they adapt and change throughout the story. Both of them learning and growing. It's a beautiful story, so well written and a great part of the overall series. I recommend this so much.

Brutal action

Patricia has balls of steel!! Absolutely ruthless storyline with characters that are harder than nails. Really enjoyed this gritty book and characters. Excellent narration from both Grace and Auden, Auden’s voice is so expressive I could listen to him all day long.

Non stop action...

This book is intense, from the action to the sexy scenes. Wren and Ryker have their own demons but together they go through so much and when you don’t think it will happen, they get their ever after. I enjoyed the book and the narrators made it more enjoyable. Great voices!

Wow!

I wasn't sure I could listen to this book when I first started it because the first nine minutes were from the past when Ryker was in hell and being tortured by his captors. I had to fast forward some of it but, luckily, most of the torture scenes are in short, quick flashbacks. I'm so glad I kept going because, other than that, I loved the book. It had the right amount of action, suspense, danger, romance and sex in it to make it a book I would highly recommend. This is my first one in the series but I definitely want to listen to the whole series. It had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning all the way until the end of the book.

Aiden Snow and Grace Grant both did an amazing job bringing this story to life. They put so much emotion into each character. The different accents were very believable and well done.

This book was action packed, and well written. Ryker and Wren's hea was hard to come by, but they get there in the end. I love Aiden Snow and Grace Grant, they're great narrators, and brought something extra to the story. All in all, I enjoyed it.

Absolutely amazing drama filled romance

This was my first Patricia D Eddy book but it won’t be my last! Everything about this story draws you in, from the different personalities of the complex characters to the scene setting to the exciting and compelling action filled story. Wren and Ryker both have very painful back stories and are both so damaged that when they come together you are instantly fighting for them romantically and also to heal each other. The storyline was full of action and some disturbing scenes but it always felt necessary to pull the story along. I absolutely loved the narration from Grace and Aiden they were perfect and acted their socks off in this audiobook! If you love action, suspense and broken hero’s then you will love this audiobook! #AudiobookObsession
