Great book for planning n off grid solar system

The authors, DIY SOURCE, and the narrator have done a nice job by summarizing the key considerations for planning, designing, installation, understanding, or buying and maintaining an off grid solar power setup and its components. There is necessary technical points amazingly explained and easy to follow examples, enough to point one in the right direction on what terms mean and how to apply them to sizing various components of the system. The audiobook is true to its claim “ADIY guide on solar energy, designing, and installing off grid systems...” A good value with useful references to other valuable resources.

The Ultimate guide to DYI solar systems

I give this a 5 Star. The information and theory that is contained in this book is needed to properly install and maintain a solar system.
The formulas that some critics say are for geniuses are all covered in the first semester of any electronic/electrical training course and are the basics of dealing with electrical circuits.
I have a bit of electronic background and too many of the other solar install books did not cover the technical aspects of the install such as the coefficient for temperature .
Overall this Audiobook book is an excellent reference to properly design an off grid solar system .

Great starter’s and pro's guide

Great audiobook that explains the basics with enough detail so that you ll be able to understand how to start an off grid, solar setup. I m novice in physics and electricity and I started this book with a fear of electricity. now I understand electricity, physics, and solar power system design and installation way better and have completely grasped the concepts. I've finished the planning phase of my off grid project and excited to move onto instillation.

The audiobook covers formulas, tools, optimizing power inputs, battery maintenance, choosing proper wires, calculating wattage with clear instructions and practical examples, a wonderful guide if you are looking forward to do it yourself.

A Good Start to Understanding the Topic

I was looking for an overview of how to design and implement a solar system. This book did a pretty good job of doing just that. It's technical and hard to listen to without the PDF that comes with the audible version. The PDF includes all the charts and formula that is required to design and implement a good solar system.

At the beginning of the book I thought the narration was very robotic which was distracting for me, but either I got used to it or the narrator got better as he went along. Based on the difficulty of the material, I had to give the performance a better rating.

I'd recommend this book to provide the background for a do-it-yourself-er to understand the basics and get going on their own project, but not as much as the the seven anonymous reviewers before me. It's good, but not perfect.
