Especially in this time where we are talking about the bad economy, but that goes without saying. This book provides a great insight into off-grid living and how it can become not only cost efficient in the grand scheme of things, but a profitable venture as well. It also teaches about building resilience and how to overcome the challenges that inevitably come with such a pursuit.

“Off-Grid Living Free” is an excellent introduction to the world of living off-grid and partially off-grid. It is a thorough survey of all the basics you need to know to get started in this lifestyle. The PDF has a wealth of additional resources that help explain topics even better.

A thorough guide well worth listening to

In addition to the usual concerns about water and power when going off-grid, this guide probes into the lifestyle changes one needs to prepare for. From a place of passion and awareness, Johnny breaks down an extremely broad subject into smaller more manageable chapters that are clearly explained, and alternative options are given. I learned a great deal about the largest water and power consumers in our modern lifestyles while also contemplating prevention and creative solutions. This guide goes from the details of how to preserve food right through to what one must have in their first aid kit and how to make a living off-grid. Although the content was in parts concerning resources in the US, there is much to be learned through listening to this thought-provoking guide. I highly recommend this audiobook and wish Johnny, Heather and their three kids the best in their adventures off-grid.

I listened to the prequel to this book, and it got my mind racing with possibilities. I'm so glad there's more. This book is well-researched. It's filled with anecdotes that are really helpful. It offers you everything you need to succeed. It's great. Awesome narrator too.
