Publisher's Summary

He is seeking absolution.

Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex, and it's one of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to save. Because if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again.

She is seeking escape.

Rowan Page's life is nothing short of a disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She's determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life, despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.

Together, they have the chance to become complete.

Flynn and Rowan's worlds exist miles apart, but when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark eventually flares into a fire so hot it refuses to be extinguished. For it to work, both of them will need to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them, despite the risk of being burned.

This is book five in the Off Series. While certain characters cross over from the Off Books, you do not need to hear the prior books to understand this one. This can be heard as a standalone.

Make Up Your Damn Mind

This was an interesting romance but it was hard to like Rowan. I just couldn't figure out what was so hard about falling for a handsome hero with a heart of gold. It's a good story but it took too long to show the chemistry between these two. I just didn't feel it for most of the story. While I did like this story well enough, so far it's my least favorite.

Again, these narrators did a good job. Matthew Holland nailed that New Jersey accent for Flynn. Charlotte North also did a decent job but sometimes Rowan had a southern accent (since she's from Texas) and sometimes she didn't. But all in all, it was a good listen.

It is worth the credit, but then again I seem to like all the audio books by Sawyer Bennett. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The yes no, yes no was anticlimactic

This story was so frustrating with the back and forth, yes no and it dragged out way too long. When it came time for her final "yes" it was so anticlimactic that it ruined the rest of the story for me. I was disappointed in this one in this series.

The female lead is irritating

She is a drama queen. She is mean. I don't like her. I do like Flynn and resent the way she hurts him. Suspect in the long run she will do it again.

struggled to finish this

I had to force myself to finish this. The heroine was annoying. Why is it she could run away, change her life but still believe love is like her parents relationship? She fought so hard against having a decent relationship. This book was just hard to finish, the wrap up is nice though.

Disappointing!!

I had to force myself to finish the book. Rowan was a horrible character. I can’t think of anything nice to say about Rowan. Flynn was such a great guy and didn’t deserve all the heartache she put him through. I understand there is always going to be some angst in the story, but this was too much. There needed to be a few redeeming qualities about Rowan, but I didn’t find any.

it was heartbreaking, yet super sweet

so I totally fell in love with Flynn, he was so sweet. Rowan thought she was broken and she almost lost everything because of it. but Flynn showed her what an amazing woman she was by being her friend. it was a great love story, with great narrators. loved the epilogue, would love to hear more about the characters sometimes. I need to know if Ever and Linc have a baby....ugh I loved these characters! great series!!

Off Chance

Flynn has the biggest heart, he is so sweet you can't help but want him to find that one true person that is just for him.
Rowan has her heart so close off she doesn't know what a real relationship would be like if it hit her in the face.
Both of these characters have tragedy in their pasts, the difference is in how they dealt with it and how they continue to deal with it.

I do like how strong both of them are just in different ways, without knowing it they do both help each other. Their bound comes together effortlessly. I do like that Flynn doesn't settle he isn't willing to have anything less than he deserves.

I am glad Rowan gets some hope/closure because she needed it. I don't think she needed it to move on because I believe that was happening anyways but I think it helped.

Again I really loved the narration, I didn't once think oh this sounds like the first or the third book, each book has felt completely separate in the way of the narration. That truly is an art.

Good story, bad accent

I have enjoyed all the books in this series so far. That being said Flynn's "Jersey" accent was a bit annoying. Being from N. Jersey myself I have to say that the narrator sounded like he was impersonating a guy from Long Island to me.
I still enjoyed the story but they didn't really need the exaggerated accent.

Okay, but...

I love this author. Not in love with this book, though. I agree with other reviewers that the heroine is unlikeable, but she doesn’t string the hero along for as long as some of the reviews makes it sound. Give it some time, if you can make it through the beginning, the book is worth a listen. Sexy firefighters. Steamy scenes. ‘Nuf said.

Brilliant book

Loved this story,I seem to be just loving on every book in this series but I can't help myself.
Friends to lovers this is Flynn's book and my oh my it a good one.
Rowan comes into his life at full force after he rescues her from a fire.
She then becomes his room mate and he falls in love hard.
Rowan is not who you think she is,she ran away from home at a young age and got caught up with bad people.Until she meets Flynn and her life turns around .
But the damage her parents lack of love for her Did to her...May be the thing that stops her from showing her true feelings for Flynn and ultimately she could lose him forever.
I thoroughly recommend this book and enjoyed it immensely Charlotte North and Matthew Holland are Magnificent as always and I Loved their performance.
Steamy, romantic and emotional Flynn is a dream .
Loved it
Excellent.

oh boy

talk about a contrary heroine. sawyer has taken this story to a whole new level.
the H and H are perfect. total chalk and cheese. it's perfectly balanced and the heroine needs the heroes character...totally.
however, Rowan ticks me off numerous times and in no uncertain terms.
the whole story is about her and her problems and how she shoves Flynns feelings around Like marbles.
I'm not sure if I can agree to this story as its all push pull and bloody frustrating....I was expecting another suspense part with the ex but it just kept rolling around with Rowan's feelings...I just want to shake her and scream WAKE UP!!!!
she's gone through so much yet she can't see a good thing when it smacks her in the face.
I guess that's what makes a good author/story I guess.
Sawyer left no room to manoeuvre Flynns character so he had very little choice but to do what he did.
loving the narration...if it's not Irish then it's a new joisy accent.
