Great...

Stephen Aryan and Matt Addis are superb!!

If you are reading this review and wondering whether it is worth purchasing...

STOP

Purchase the first book in the Demon Cycle series, The Painted Man.

There are a few negative reviews, and they clearly haven''t connected with the author and narrator. I think the are 5 star +

Why not give it a go, if you love it, great. If not send it back...

If you've a dark sense of humour and like a fast moving and complex plot, you won't be disappointed.

Everything I wanted

I've loved every one of this series, but this is my favourite (even if it is just a short).
Firstly, Vargas is my favourite character.
Secondly, we actually get some answers about Vargas, The Maker and the universe in general.
This story was less depressing and nihilistic than the last book, which was a welcome change of pace.
Although you could conceivably read this before Battle mage, I wouldn't recommend it (it'd spoil somethings).
Anyway, this was fantastic all the way through!
