Sheila Davalloo was young, attractive, and successful. When she started a new job at a cutting-edge research lab in Stamford, Connecticut, she met the man of her dreams. Nelson Sessler had no idea how violently Sheila would react when he began seeing a co-worker, Anna Lisa Raymundo. Sheila eliminated her rival in a bloody knife attack - and then turned her rage on another victim she saw as an obstacle to her passions. M. Williams Phelps recounts the riveting story of a white-collar love triangle gone horribly wrong…and the terrifying infatuation that drove one woman to kill.

I was not bothered by the narrator. The book is really good and if you know about this case from podcasts and the Netflix show, there is so much more to it. This book lays it all out. Poor Ana - she was doomed. I don't think anything could have saved her from this monster.

This is a good book about a really Crazy Murderer

This book. Deep pics, the true antisocial personality, so well known for there manipulation and reckless disregard for the rights of others. Sheila is where she belongs. God bless Paul and Anna Lisa’s family. Mr. Phelps is a wonderful author.

...to my desire for a story! Too much time spent on description and too little on dialogue. I wish I hadn't spent the money.

such a crazy story... if it was fiction it would have been too unrealistic... Shelia is a diabolical character. when I first started the book I thought I could see how the whole story was going to play out... however there was some jaw dropping plot twists weaved in...great book!

crazy story

The story is complelling in its picture of a sociopathic opportunist who manipulates everyone in her path, including her children. The narration, however, is awful: the narrator chants rather than reads, and portrays the main character (who is in her mid-late thirties) with the accent and intonation of a demented valley girl. Very grating, and spoils what would have otherwise been a very good book

Avoid this narrator

I read this book a while back and decided to listen to it in audio format because the story is so crazy. I enjoy Phelps’s writing, so there is nothing wrong with the story, but the narration is horrible. The voices her puts on to distinguish a speaking character are laughable. It’s so bad it makes it literally difficult to continue listening. They need to make a Waze/like option to choose the sound of your narrator. A great book can be ruined by an intolerable narrator.

Terrible Narration

Wow the things people do just amaze me sometimes. This is a nicely written work of Mr. Phelps. The narrator does a good job except one of his voices bothered me a bit, but that can be over looked.

If you like this one and haven't read his Perfect Poison - please do so. You'll enjoy that bizarre story as much as this one if not more.

This is a good one

Another great book by M. Williams Phelps. I listened to it on Audible. However, some of the narration when it came to the accents was unnecessary, just read the book as it is.

Really good crime writers are harder to find these days. Not many are as thorough in their research as old school writers like Ann Rule or Gregg Olsen. This is the rare exception, one of only 2 great true crime books that I've read this year (I average a book per day). The murderer here is a compelling character alone, yet Phelps weaves a fabulous tapestry into her crimes, in an era when we are almost immune to violence. The narrator takes a bit getting used to - his tone is a bit too cavałier for such a heinous murder as the one depicted here. It took a lot for me to stick with this book until I just got used to the narrator's reading style. Good stuff - well worth the price of admission!
