Publisher's summary

In the dim lights of Aurora’s premier kink club waits an alpha eager to take control. Billionaire Crawford Daniels has bedded submissives before, but he’s never given one his collar. That privilege is reserved for the man who’s strong-willed enough to tell him no, but whose pretty lips always say yes. Crawford wants more than a pet - he wants a partner. Someone to pamper and spoil or punish.

Hidden behind case reports and paperwork waits an omega afraid to give it all up. Owen Ellis has fought tooth and nail to rise above his omega status and find success. He’s educated, successful, and independent, but deep inside, he knows something is missing. A mistake during his teenage years has led to a lifetime of loneliness, and Owen refuses to surrender his heart again. He’s afraid to be hurt.

He’ll never let another alpha in. But some rules are meant to be broken. When Owen meets Crawford and sparks fly, Owen has to decide if happiness is worth the risk. The choice is always his. He can walk away and embrace loneliness - or he can wear Crawford’s collar and obey.

Obey, the first audiobook in His Command series, contains scenes so steamy, your screens will fog; one of the hottest uses for an ice cube ever; an introduction to a club you'll never want to leave, and a happily ever after that proves in the end, love really does win.

Loved It!

This story quickly drew me in and had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I adore Crawford and Owen are an endearing couple. It was enjoyable watching their relationship blossom and flourish. The author has done a wonderful job of building a world that seems realistic. The narrator does a great job of bringing the characters to life. Each character is given their own voice adding depth and nuances to bring the story to life. I look forward to more in this series.

Owen and Crawford

This was a really good story. Owen and Crawford were a great match, and it was enjoyable to watch Crawford teach Owen how to channel his natural submission into a D/s relationship, without becoming a beaten down omega. My favorite part of the book was when the men had been together for awhile, and Crawford began questioning Owen about his medical history. Things got more intense and the relationship between them became solid. I thought the narration was very well done, making each character distinct, and giving me a clearer image of both men in my mind.
I found this audiobook very well done, and I am curious to see what happens next in this series.

Well...I mean, of course it's freaking amazing!

This may be one of my favorite audiobooks.

Michael Pauley is flawless, as always. Crawford has just the right amount of dominant power and empathetic caring. The chemistry between him and Owen is realistic and HOT.

I love the twist regarding Owen's distrust and Crawford's dedication to fixing it. I can't wait to listen to the next one!

Unexpected!

4.5 Stars!

Obey is the first book in the His Command series by Piper Scott and it's what I like to call BDSM lite. Nothing too jarring, mostly love and care from a Dom to his pet/boy with a bit of a kinky twist here and there in the form of orgasm denial, spanking and light stuff like that, which was okay for me, since I don't do hardcore anything.

Crawford was a great Alpha/Dom, very loving and determined to take care of Owen in the best way he could. I loved how patient he was, especially with the plot twist near the end and how intent on letting Owen have his say on what would happen ultimately. And Owen was just a great blend of submissive and not, even if I do think he gave in too easily. I was very glad he found Crawford, though, because they were pretty much perfect for each other and their chemistry was out of this world.

Michael Pauley did a great job with the narration. He brought the intensity that the characters needed to project when they needed and I loved that he could show Crawford and Owen's personalities through their voices. This is definitely one of my favorite narrations of his.

The book was good, but there were a couple of things that I thought would happen and didn't, which I was thankful for. And I was thrown for a loop with the twist there at the end, I didn't see that coming! Still, Obey was an enjoyable story and an even better audiobook to listen to!

nice story

Owen and Crawford is sweet and emotional. I like that Crawford was patient with Owen and showed him that he was more than just a Omega. I voluntarily read a arc copy

Hot & Sexy

Hearing one of my favorite series come to life by such an amazing narrator is just pure Nirvana!! I loved reading this book and now hearing it just made it even better. Crawford and Owen are incredible characters that I totally fell in love with. Their coming together is a beautiful story and seeing how caring, protective, and understanding Crawford is with Owen is wonderful. Owen has been through a lot in his life and it's great to see him being cherished. To say the narrator is absolutely amazing isn't enough. He just has a way of bringing everything to life and making you feel the story like no other. Can't wait for the others in the series. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Wickedly hot and steamy

With both the story and narration, I found that this book left me breathless and wanting for more. It was a gripping story that moved quickly pulling me along. I was easily lost in it. Michael Pauley brings this story to life, giving it so much!!! Definitely well worth the listen.

Very enjoyable listen!

I knew going into this that I would enjoy the narration because, well it's Michael Pauley, you can't go wrong with him narrating a story. As expected the story was well told and it was easy to determine voices. The story itself is good as well. It's a slightly different take on the omegaverse and the dom/sub universe as well. I have seen some reviews that were disappointed about all the happenings that went on off page but for me that didn't affect my enjoyment of the story at all. This isn't a long book but we get enough of the world building and character building to enjoy the story. At first I was concerned at how quickly Owen turned over his submission but as the relationship grew and I saw more of how Crawford treated him it became very clear that Owen still held the power in the relationship. At no point was Owen's choice taken away from him about anything. In every step that was taken Crawford gave the decision over to Owen. This was a sweet story with little to no angst and a HEA. I'm looking forward to what's next in this series.
