best book I've heard in a long time.

Narration was great. The story was interesting fun and a bit funny. can't wait to get more books by this author.

Where did they find this guy???

I listen to a lot of books, and this is my first review ever. That's how inspired I was and how much I freakin LOVED this book. And yeah for sure the writing is fantastic, but I'm here specifically for the NARRATION.
First off, I'm generally not a fan of American narrators. They just don't get UK accents down in a way that sounds authentic / fun / not overdone. Or the acting is just kinda meh. But Mark Garkusha?? He is a horse of a diferent stripe, my friends. Not only does he completely capture the extremely entertaining nuances of Marluck, but he breathes life into every other character he voices. I found myself genuinely chuckling at the hilarious conversations between Marluck and the other members of the Oathbreakers Guild. Top marks go to my particular favorite voices of the Grumke the dwarf, Mort the elf, and hands down best character in the book - Ram.
I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish of this outstanding journey. If nothing else, come for the top tier talent of Garkusha, stay for the hilarious writing and wild adventure.

First. I adore this cover. Warren has truly captured the story and characters.

This was my first time experiencing Scott Warren’s writing and it won’t be my last. Oathbreakers Anonymous was delightful, hilarious, and immersive full of action, adventure, twists, and turns. While this is entirely from Marluck’s perspective there are numerous secondary and tertiary characters that I also got to know and love. This is one of those books that’s hard to describe without spoiling anything. It felt like the perfect amalgamation between the epic quests and adventures of Lord of the Rings with the humor and characters of The Princess Bride.

Marluck turns from aimless to desiring redemption. He finds friends, and foes, in the unlikeliest of places and from a variety of backgrounds and species. Ultimately learning that his epic quest is about more than he ever imagined.

This is a full and complete story with no cliffhangers. Even a charming epilogue. However Warren has definitely left the door open for Marluck to have more adventures in the future.

Mark Garkusha’s narration was like listening to a flawless full cast performance. Characters brought to life with charmingly unique yet consistent voices, accents, and personalities. He’s wonderful at evoking the emotion of Warren’s writing. Loved every minute of this.

While I own the ebook, I did receive a copy of the Audiobook from the narrator and am leaving an honest review.

I was a big fan and had come across it by accident and I’m glad I did! Very well written and witty. I’m now a huge fan also of the books narrator. He did an amazing job!

Great time

Full disclosure, I received a review copy for free.

I really enjoyed this one. Story was good. It was a little predictable but managed to throw in little twists here and there. Lots of sci-fi and fantasy references and lots of comedy. Overall it was a fun book and good story. This is straight up fantasy, orcs, elves, dwarves, and magic. You follow a group of fallen paladins on a more misadventure than quest for redemption. Lots of fun to listen to. The villians are more evil game show host than evil bad guy number 1 and the author does a good job of making them not be a typical forgettable bad guy. I've read TONS of books and the characters in this are really well done. Lots of character development but at times it seemed a little rushed.

Narrator was great. Lots of voices and good accents. He did a good job of bringing the characters to life. There were some very minor things at the end that were a little distracting (swallowing, pauses, etc) but this is an editing issue.

Take away: Worth a credit for sure. Not what you expect from a typical fantasy book. No easily guessed plot points. Great characters and great villians. Looking foward to a second installment.

Redemption is not the only way

This was an interesting book. A man lost his God's favor and met up with others like him in something like AA, and he finds hope that he might have a chance to get his power back, and has a group of other fallen paladins to go with him. I really enjoyed it and didn't want to put it down. The only problem I had with it was I was read/listening to it, and the chapter numbers did not always match.
