Publisher's Summary

Do you know what the Constitution actually says?

This witty and highly relevant annotation of our founding document is the go-to guide to the ins and outs of how our government really works.

Written by political savant and entertainment veteran Ben Sheehan and vetted for accuracy by dozens of experts in the field of constitutional law, OMG WTF Does the Constitution Say? is an entertaining and accessible guide that explains what the Constitution lays out.

Discussing everything from the meaning of the Second Amendment to the stated rules around Supreme Court nominations, Sheehan walks us through the entire Constitution, from its preamble to its final amendment. He also offers a bonus section on the Declaration of Independence. Extra-credit information throughout on things like amendments that were never passed and what powers elected officials actually have gives listeners all the information they need to be informed and effective voters and citizens.

"Every election, millions of people do not vote simply because they don't understand how the government works. If every American had this book they would laugh, learn, and go to the polls." (Kat Calvin, founder and executive director of Spread the Vote)

Too much opinion

I have a political science degree and found this wanting! He repeats the obvious and then often has some tacky comments. Boring too I

Just Bad

Too much "in my opinion" based on feelings, not facts. The Founding Fathers' Guide to the Constitution by Brion McClanahan is a much better guide backed by better evidence and logic.

Great for beginners trying to learn about the Constitution

This book is so informative. I appreciate how the author wrote the original words, then modified the writing so it is understandable and included modern day examples in his text. I like the separation between what is relevant and no longer relevant in today’s world and I appreciated his thoughts as well. Overall an amazing listen. Would definitely recommend this book to anybody.

Should be mandatory for all Citizens

Fun as the constitution can be and vitally important if things are to operate as they could be, that is to say "functionally." To the author, I listened to the acknowledgements.

An easy guide to the USA Constitution

This is a great and easy guide to the USA foundational document. The author gives the actual text, a simple interpretation and then some context. You can easily tell which parts no longer apply because they too are clearly marked. If you have questions about the Constitution this book can give you the information you need.

So that's what the Constitution doesn't say

Very informative and well narrated. Kept me interested throughout the whole thing. They should teach this stuff in school!

A good summary of the US Constitution

Admittedly I knew a fair amount of what was in here, but this is a good summary of the US Constitution along with some thoughts on what it means.

A nude short book on the subject.
