Publisher's summary

I’m supposed to care for a kid, not create one!

Space needs nurses. That’s what they told me, and that’s why I agreed to go. They say Raider is the last place I want to end up, but I’m up to the challenge. I’ll care for the warlord’s child. One problem. He wants me to make said child. With him. No. Not happening. Never. I'm not selling my body to some brute! But Kain isn’t the brute I imagined. And the longer I’m on Raider, the longer I wonder if belonging to him would be so bad.

I don’t need tricks to find a woman. Compassionate. Smart. Beautiful. Abby is all these things. But she’s not willing, and I won’t force her. If I send her back, IEP will just pass her off to another planet. I can’t put her in that situation. As I get to know her, I want her more and more. My body knows she’s my fated mated. I don’t want her to merely be a surrogate. I want a family with her. Once she’s given me a child, she’ll be allowed to leave Raider and never return. What will it take to get her to stay?

Nurse for an Alien Warrior is a steamy alien romance featuring a warrior hero and the compassionate human nurse who awakens the mating gene within him.

Great action

I do love it when the H thinks the h can’t make up her own mind. When they have to apologise and make it up to her, it’s very humbling. This book has all the feels. Great performance from both narrators.

Fun Sci-fi Romance!!

Nurse For An Alien Warrior by Roxie Ray is a great Sci-fi romance!!
Abby definitely got more than she bargained for when she signed a contract to become a "life giver" for an alien warlord!
Fun, steamy and a little bit of danger made a great storyline! Love the audio narration as well!
Looking forward to more from this world the author has created!!

from breeder to wife. 💜👏🏾😂😉

(Kain & Abby): RECEIVED THIS FREE ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW! I really love Roxie Ray's book and this book was no different. Though there were some moments where I was rolling my eyes at the female lead. Abby is a nurse working in the kids unit of the hospital when she's approached by a rep from the I.E.P., under the impression that more medical staff was needed on the other planets. She agrees to go for a year but she's in for a surprise. Kain is the leader of planet Raider, he's now ready to settle down so he bids in an auction for a life breeder. This book is funny and extremely sexy. There's drama among clan members and a true test of love. I really enjoyed it. Kain and Abby have an almost immediate chemistry but not insta love. It was a good read.

Entertaining

This was an enjoyable, entertaining and easy listen.

Even though this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone book.

As with any Alien/Human relationship there are going to be misunderstandings and communication issues. While both the characters got on my nerves at one point or another in the story, in end they both become likable and you can’t help but root for them and their HEA.

The characters were good.

Both narrators did a great job. Nice voices that are easy to listen to for long periods of time. Their narration flowed smoothly and evenly.

Enjoyable Audiobook

I enjoyed this story about two caring individuals that need to deal with corrupt documents and lack of communication. Roxie Ray does a great job of character development. When Kain realizes what has happened to Abby he only wants the best for her. Abby must decide what her heart really wants. Since this will be a life changing decision, it won't be easy for her.

Jack Calihan and Kelly Huston do an outstanding job of making this an enjoyable listening experience. They are talented storytellers that make you feel the emotions of these characters. I recommend this Audible book for your listening pleasure.

Just a little whiny.

The hero was a little timid, and the female lead was just pedestrian; get over it already. It was a Good story, but a little slow. Also, the narrators are not pleasing. The female narrator sounded like Mrs. Cravitz on Bewitch. Ugh.

A light and enjoyable listen

Rating: ❤️❤️❤️.5

Set in the somewhat near future NURSE FOR AN ALIEN WARRIOR is the second Sci-Fi Romance novel in Roxie Ray’s Intergalactic Exchange Program series. I didn’t listen to book one of the series but I don’t think I missed too much. However there is numerous tertiary characters mentioned in this story that were obviously part of book one.

Despite the many fights the book contained (after all Kain is a warrior) I found it to be a rather light listen. The fights weren’t graphic. The plot was easy to follow and the story flowed along well enough. Both of the main characters were easy to like (although while Abby was easy to like she also annoyed me) but I especially had a soft spot for two of the secondary characters. Truthfully I liked the story. It had a steady pace and never got boring. I found this to be an enjoyable listen.

Unfortunately there were some things about the book that bugged the hell out of me. I don’t want to spoil the story but one of the things that bothered me was how clueless Abby was. The first “misunderstanding” I get her falling for. But then there were a few situations where if she were truly a nurse she would’ve had knowledge about what was happening or at least asked some sort of pointed questions. Another thing that I didn’t like was how that first “misunderstanding” was handled. Something should have been done to the perpetrators. They did something wrong and everyone just forgets about it? That’s not cool. Also, the OBGYN made some absurd decisions, SMH.

Both narrators, Kelley Huston and Jack Calihan, are people who I’ve listened to before. When I quickly scanned the reviews of those books I saw that my opinions on their performances pretty much matched up to what I thought of them this time around. Huston was great. She had a fantastic energy to her performance. Plus she puts emotion into her speech as well as tries to give each character their own voice. I liked Calihan’s performance too. He did great with using different voices for the characters but his acting could use some improvement. You could tell he was putting in the effort though.

Abby and Kain

I enjoy Roxie Ray's books and this one is very good. Abby, who is a nurse from earth, thought she was going to another planet to be a nurse to a warrior's child. Instead, she was there to have a child and enter into a marriage of convenience (a contractual obligation) so the child is born in wedlock. Initially, when she found out, she was surprised and not accepting at all. There was a fight to see who would win her. Of course Kain won. Kain admitted he was falling for Abby, but initially she kept quiet about her feelings. She didn't want to admit it because she was going to return to earth within a year and he didn't want to ask her to stay. They were both very annoying at times keeping such important things from each other, which led to misunderstandings. Abby agreed to be a surrogate but things don't work out that way. Fortunately, a greater power is at play. Dordis and his daughter were great! Jack Calihan and Kelley Huston did a great job with the narration. Whine Whine Whine

At the beginning of the book, I had empathy for Abby, but towards the end of the book I couldn’t stand her; Miss holier than thou was too much. Kain could do so much better; all the begging and pleading to this prude. Yuk!
Narrators did a good job with characters.
