Tough Listen
Intense DV depicted along with a victim/narrator or who is so foolish it’s hard to empathize. Yes of course, tell the man who’s just kicked the shit out of you that you’re going to leave him. Of course he’s going to let you get your car keys and just waltz out the door. Why bother waiting till he’s at work and driving away. Noooo. Or go to your sister who hates you for help instead of driving to your friends and reconciling. The DV descriptions are hard enough to listen to let along the character’s complete idiocy.
I’m about half way though and not sure if I’ll make it to the end. I love this author is other works but this one is a tough read.
