This is a fascinating book. More than a singular story about Herman Perry, which in itself is really good, you learn a lot about the Burmese campaign in WWII, particularly the Ledo Road, the native people and geography. Very exotic and interesting. Spike Lee was going to film it, too bad that didn't happen because it is cinematic and well told. Of depth and interest.
