Publisher's Summary

I needed you. I needed you to tell me I was beautiful. I needed you to tell me it was all going to be okay. I needed you to be with me. To love me. To protect me. I needed you - but the sad thing is you didn't need me.

You didn't want me. You never cared about me. And when you gave up on me, I gave up on me, too. I lost myself because I found all my self-worth in you. And when you left me, I left myself, too.

Now I'm left wondering, could I come back for me?

Not the End is a powerful and moving novella about a girl finding herself again. Bouncing between past and present the story slowly unfolds to reveal what really happened While not graphic you know what the situation was and feel for Dima. I wanted to know more about Aron and the hard time he dealt with. I also wanted more Dina and Aron. This is an amazing story and inspirational to those who are dealing with Dina’s situation. It’s also a great reminder that you don’t know everything that happens and you shouldn’t judge as if you do.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Quick good listen

While this story was a quick read it was very enjoyable and I felt it to be realistic. I loved how Aaron tried to help Dena and make her realize she needed to start fighting for herself despite the meanness that was surrounding her in the school. This book had some great feels to it and it was perfect being so short and just a quick pick me up

I love how it motivates something in me to just keep fighting and fight for myself.

Short and Emotional

This was a good read. It's short but there's a lot of emotion packed into it. It's heartbreaking and real.

The narration was fantastic, Amanda Stribling was the perfect choice.

good story

This was a great short story about standing up for yourself! At times I struggled with following listening to the story a little because of the flashbacks. I am not use to listening to stories and not reading them so I think that is why I struggled a little. But even with that I really liked it.

A bit simple

Content: Language, trigger warning rape

So, I didn't realize it was novella at first so I was confused by how fast it went. I guess for a novella it was alright. I felt like it could have been delved into more normally. All this stuff seemed to adjust quickly. Maybe a bit too simple since it went too fast, but a sweet ending.

Raising my rating

This wasn’t the story I had expected but it was well perceived. With a touch of romance thrown into a situation that is all too real for many high school students, Gabriela crafted a somewhat alternative to “13 Reason Why” by Jay Asher. There was also a hint of “Mean Girls” by Micol Ostow tossed around in there. At least that is what I made of it.

While the events that unfolded where realistic, they where handle in a manner that was at best softly put. With just enough information to gather what happened without going into details of the events that plague the story. Which I found to be rather refreshing. It left just enough to make you hope for the best but expect the worst.

The metamorphosis of Dimah “Em” Emerson, was beautifully crafted. The way she changed throughout the nightmare she lived. The growth she had with the gentle nudge of Aron was endearing. Aron added the perfect umph to the story. Not being overbearing while also not standing on the sideline.

This is a heartbreaking story, that will leave you with questions of the roles of society from the jocks, the mean girls, school officials and friends. It hits on some petty hard subjects so brace yourself for this. Because while the outcome is uplifting it could have easily turned the other way.

This is my second time experiencing Not The End, but my first time listening to in audio format. And what can say it brought the story more alive for me. In fact I’ll be going back and raising my rating from 4 stars to 5, because I noticed so much more then I hadn’t before.

It’s a remarkable pieces.

Short, heartbreaking

This is the first book I've read/listened to by Gianna Gabriela. It was a shorter book that can be easily listened to on a short trip. The story went back and forth between the past and present. It was a heartbreaking storyline. My heart dropped several times.

Amanda Stribling was a great narrator.

Inspirational

This is such an amazing book. I loved it. While it hurt my heart for the characters pain it spoke to me. Bullying is a huge part of our lives now. I wish it wasn’t but it is. It needs to stop.
In this amazing short story we see our heroine learn to overcome the hardships and grow. It’s so amazing and inspirational. Highly recommend

Stay strong!

What a wonderful story of standing up for yourself and figuring out who you are. A young lady loses a long time friend who, come to find out, she didn’t need as a friend anyway. Rumors were spread and finally a strong person stands with her showing her she does have strength. Narration was great. I recommend this book.

Loved it

Bullying is never a joke. This book brings to life those nasty people who try to get people down; but it also brings to life a strong young girl who finally moves forward from a horrific experience. Amanda did a fabulous job at narration

🎧Review for Audiobook Obsession 🎧

I was emotionally drained after finishing this heart wrenching story and I’m having a real struggle butting into words my feelings for what this young lady endured. High school is suppose to be a learning experience, not a place to be bullied, the Prom a right of passage not a night to be demoralized, health professionals there to assist, guide, help you heal not criticize.
Kudos to the author for putting into words this subject that I needs to be voiced and Amanda for doing an excellent job in its narration.

A story you'll relate to!

Shesh, Not the End seriously messed with my heart. For an audiobook that was only a smidge over 2 hours it sure packs a mean punch to the gut! Dimah had this inner struggle with her own self worth that I think so many listeners will feel the connection to Gianna Gabriela powerful message. I did enjoy Amanda Stribling’s narration. I felt she portrayed the characters beautifully. She really has such a calming and gentle voice. I like listening to her audiobooks.

Emotional Novella

Not The End By Gianna Gabriela is an emotional young adult novella that I listened to on audio narrated by Amanda Stribling.

This is the first book of Gianna’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. The book was not what I expected from the blurb given. I cannot wait for the next book in the series Not The Same to be released on audible. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone.

Amanda did an amazing job on the narration. She really brought the story to life.

Not the End

I’m not sure how to write a review for this book. There is so much pain and inner turmoil in this book that had me crying for this girl. She is finally able to find her strength and value but the pain she had to endure is devastating. All in all it brought out my emotions so definitely worth the four stars. I am glad that there is a happy for now ending as well.

Emotional

This short story deals with bullying and sexual abuse. It is raw and emotional. While Dimah is only a fictional character, sadly, there are so many real teenagers going through this same type of torment in schools everywhere. Unfortunately, many times the outcome turns out very different from Dimah's story. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Amanda Stribling did a great job bringing this story to life.

Not an easy subject but well handled and narrated

Considering the subject matter of this story I'm not sure that saying I enjoyed it feels right. But in a way I did enjoy it. It kept me engaged, I wanted to know what was going to happen, how it was all going to work out. The characters are so well written I really felt for her and what she went through. The way the story is set up (you'll understand what I mean when you listen) works really well. It is not at all an easy subject to tackle but I feel it was handled sensitively and with a lot of understanding for the character.

Amanda Stribling does an awesome job with the narration, enabling me to just relax and get sucked into the story.

This is fantastic. Every teen girl should read this!!

This is an amazing story of a young woman who lost herself for a period is time. She allowed herself to be abused by classmates and the bullies who lead them. Until, one day, someone told her she could stand up for herself, and not allow them to do that any longer.

It’s an amazing take on “taking my life back” and is handled spectacularly by Gianna Gabriella. Kudos to this author for her handling of this subject.

Amanda Stribling rocked this!! Awesome job!
