There’s nothing profound in this book - anyone reading has very likely already tried the handful of ‘trick’ techniques. I’m going to keep trying to find a more helpful book, not just one that tells me what I am ready know. The narration was clear but extremely monotone and a bit boring. Luckily it was a quick listen.

Lacking Something
While this book may be helpful to those that are just learning that their boss has NPD tendencies, it really isn’t helpful to those that already know. Yes, there are plenty of tips given on how to survive a workplace when you have a boss like that, and if you plan to stick around, these usually do work, but not always. Some of their tips can also bite you in the rear. It lacks the empathy for the reader and what they’re going through as well as different ways a boss can be when they are narcissistic (there are different types of narcissism). I was hoping for more empowerment when having to work with one and know that the feelings we have are justified, but it just wasn’t there. Many of the tips are telling you how to walk on eggshells while also being someone you’re not just to appease the boss… it’s unhealthy to do this. Please be mindful of this when listening to it. There’s so much more behind narcissistic personalities and learning how to cope and love yourself regardless of their treatment.
