Publisher's summary

There’s always a new threat.

A year after the Event, horrific memories of the vessels linger in Dean’s mind as he tries to find his way forward in his new life. But now the heroes of Earth face a new threat that endangers the fragile remnant of humanity.

Two rebel hybrids have escaped from their segregated encampment. Dean and his team pursue them across the galaxy, racing to catch them before they reach an unseen enemy. This new threat is looming over Earth, their name spoken softly and fearfully by anyone who knows of them.

When a line is drawn, on whose side will Dean stand?

A fun young adult book, but I'm not a young adult

This story doesn't have anymore holes in it than most Hollywood Blockbusters, but I expect more from the books.

Still a great story

I am enjoying the storyline. It’s still keeping my attention as I get more familiar with the main characters. Easy reading. Luke Daniels USA An amazing narrator and we ca feel the characters emotions through his voice. I love sci-fi and this story is taking far away in space and time. Love it. Reading book 3 now

Loving this series

Can't wait to start book 3 in a moment. A huge reveal came in this book, that I'm quite sure no one was coming. Almost has me worried about what we'll discover next. Let's find out.

Well, the narration was good..

This was okay but I got tired of Dean's inner thought of how tired he was of killing. Good grief, the planet was attacked and the population was put in huge space ships and was flying toward the sun in the first book then they were just waiting for another attack in this book AND Dean was tired of killing? Jeez, those constant thoughts were just stupid. AND there's 10 more books in this series where we can constantly read about how tired Dean is of killing ALIENS. No thank you!

No sex and no swearing.

As for the narration: Luke Daniels is fabulous but even he couldn't make this story better.

Holds your interest with twists!

2nd book is as good as the first and Luke Daniels narrates it too!
First, if a narrator is no good...you can't really enjoy listening to a book. Thankfully, Luke is a fantastic narrator and the characters come to life and it's like listening to theater! He sounds a lot like Nathan Dillon.
Dean continues to be our hero and I'm not giving away spoilers. You should definitely read the books in order or the characters lose their relevance to the story. Its also clean. No cussing, no explicit sexual content either, just a good sci fi story that keeps getting better. It holds your interest with its plots and ..things you didn't see coming!

A good second installment

Wonderfully fleshes out our Heroes of Earth even more. And those twists, whoa. Yes, indeed.

Did not pull me in like the first!!

Not sure how to feel. Didn't get sucked in like the first book. Felt more like a long drawn out backstory for what's to come. I'll still read the next book, but hopefully it's better then this one. The ending leaves much to be desired and I feel like the main characters wouldn't have abandon the Earth and it's inhabitants so easily, but maybe they're is more to this story as well.

too many plot-holes and giant logic leaps...

I think Luke Daniels is one of the most talented narrators in all of Audible. However, this story just has too many plot-holes to fill. His voice can't carry through the unfortunate weaknesses in the text to make it something better than it otherwise would be. I started with book one and hope that book two would be an improvement, but I think it might be worse. I will not be spending my valuable credits on additional titles in the series.

Boring not technical Sci-Fi

Too much talk about the love of the dog, the good friends, the dear girlfriend, the good food etc. etc. The story could might as well be converted to a story about any other adventure. Almost no technical interesting stuff.
The reader does a really good job, but the story is just boring.

Excellent continuation

I thought this book really "fleshed" out the storyline - I felt the characters got stronger and the action was really well paced, its certainly encouraged me to read more! Super
