Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author A.L. Jackson comes an enemies-to-lovers, close-proximity, second-chance romance…

Logan Lawson won me in a bet.

The second I saw him sitting at the illegal card table, I knew I was in trouble. Years ago, he sealed my fate and condemned me to a life I didn’t want to lead. Yet he’s filled with untamed fury and thirsting for vengeance against the husband I hate.

Aster Costa is everything I never should have wanted.

The second she showed with her pompous, prick of a husband, I should have gotten up and walked. But there’s no looking away from the woman who wrecked me. Worse, I can’t stop myself from plotting to get her back.

I want nothing more than to be free of my husband. I’m afraid Logan Lawson is the only one who can make that happen.

He might hate me for our past, but now it’s me on my knees begging for help. Finding each other in the middle of it wasn’t supposed to be part of the bargain.

But once Logan touches me, I’m gone. A torch is rekindled. A fire is lit.

Aster Costa has always been mine.

And this time, no matter the cost, I won’t give her back….

A beautiful dark story of a fairytale love

Logan Lawson is your quintessential "fun guy" - the "life of the party" playboy, the coolest uncle to Gage and Juni Bee... but underneath it all lies a heart that's deeply hurt. "You can't keep shining when you only shine to cover the darkness you hold onto." He's gone legit (almost) when his brothers flew the MC family they were raised into, but his thrill-seeking ways send him to an illegal card game. And in one of these games, he wins her in a bet - the woman who broke him.

Aster Costa can't believe her eyes when she sees the man who sealed her fate, condemning her to a life worse than death. Now her horrible husband lost her in a bet to the man who destroyed. Logan was responsible for what happened to her and now she'll beg him to help her escape the world never wanted to belong to. She never forgot him. He never wanted to leave her. Now Fate threw them together. This time he will keep her. She was his "little star" and he was her "North Star" and they finally found their way back to each other.

OMG, what a ride! I've been in love with the Lawson boys from the start and I have a soft spot for Logan. I knew there had to be something dark underneath all that devil-may-care attitude and boy, it was a doozy! This story made laugh, cry, gasp and have really dark thoughts against the people who kept the "little star" away from the "North Star".

This is Amy at her best - her almost lyrical style is perfectly matched to this dark fairytale-like story. There is a princess, there is an evil monster and there is our tarnished hero. They'll go through a veritable quest to get to their HEA, but it's so worth it.

Absolutely loved it! I'm drained, but I loved it!

Narration: You get Zachary Webber being dark and swoony and Erin Mallon being both vulnerable and badass. A thousand stars for the duo.

Possible triggers: I'm not going too be specific to avoid major spoilers, but this is a dark tale where unspeakable things happen to the MCs. (Contact me for further details if needed)

There is no”ah” after every sentence.

Erin Malin sounds like a middle school girl when she talks. She’s trying to be sexy but she throws in that “ah” after every sentence. It’s annoying, and as soon as I heard her voice I remembered another book I started to read, but because her voice drove me so crazy I quit. Now I wish I quit earlier in this book.

long but good

ok..so I really enjoy this authors books ALOT! she has became one of my absolute favorites. I love this series alot, so I was excited for this book. I enjoyed the story overall but I will admit that it was VERY SLOW. I struggled to get through this one. it grabbed my attention in the beginning and then I was lost somewhere about a 1/4 way through..until the last maybe 6 or so chapters when everything finally started happening..the epilogue was lacking for me, I wish it wouldn't have been so short and so far into their future. overall because I really love this series I would still give it high ratings.

Definitely NOT 5 stars

I hated to give this book a bad review, however it was a very very slow burn. I get where the author was trying to go with the story but maybe she should have written an outline before drafting the entire story. At times it felt all over the place. The plot dragging out so dramatically until I had to fast forward some parts. These narrator's are some of the best but the recording sounded as if they were distracted. At times you could tell they were turning their heads there were long pauses in between. 3 stars given for a mediocre performance and story...

Zachery Webber will melt your heart

Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon took Logan and Aster to other worldly height. I love Zachary Webber and just hearing him become Logan Lawson was magical, and I loved every minute of it. Erin Mallon took on Aster with flying colors and brought this tortured beauty to life. Listening to this audio while reading it (following along) made everything come to life in the only way these two can. Amazing what these narrators can do and how well they do it.

Enjoyed the story

I enjoyed the story. It was narrated well although sometimes Erin Mallon spoke too low and was difficult to hear but it may have been how it was recorded. Such a sweet love story.

I ended up jumping chapters.

I was disappointed to say the least. I've read/listened to better stories from A.L. Jackson in the past.
The narrator, Teddy Hamilton, was good but this story was weak for him. I have a problem with the female narrator. It was probably the story.
Just my opinion. I wouldn't spend the credit if given another choice.

Logan steals the show!!!

AL Jackson gives us an amazing story with Never Look Back. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Logan’s story since we learned about his two older brothers. I have completely adored these men with mega soft spots for their women. There is nothing sexier than a man that goes weak for his woman. The minute Aster walks back into Logan’s life, he wants her back. He sees nothing but Aster. Aster may resist but she doesn’t stand a chance against Logan’s charm, his heart, or his moves. Things are anything but smooth for these two. Getting back together isn’t as easy as they might think. Something is standing in their way… Aster’s husband. Logan refuses to give her up again and is determined to fight with everything he’s got. Aster’s the same, the time is now.

I was so impressed with the way Jackson develops her characters. She makes them into people that you could be friends with. Aster is strong and resilient. She’s tired of living a life she doesn’t want. Logan strait up refuses to give Aster up again. He knows she’s worth fighting for and he’s ready to fight. The narration of Never Look Back by Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber were flawless. Mallon gives us a strong-willed Aster. She gives us those emotions swirling around. Webber is just amazing as Logan. He’s strong and so assertive but he also has a heart of gold that he wears on his shoulder. I could listen to these two narrate all day long!

amazing series ❤ 🌟

I have listened to each one of the 3 books in this series back to back, listening for hours and hours at a time as I just didn't want to put them down. the books have lovable characters including 2 of the cutest kids ever. the narrations in each book have been stunning from first to very last word from this talented cast of performers. the books have everything you need, romance, angst, strong family bonds and spice as well as strong female leads and men who protect/love them and know how to treat their women, honestly what more can a girl ask for. I highly recommend the series, 5 well deserved stars.

A Dark Romantic Suspense! Wow! I Loved it!

This is the third book in the Redemption Hills Series, a Dark Romantic Suspense. Wow! I loved it! Logan and Aster's second chance to love is breathtakingly well written, suspenseful, intense, and enthralling. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. Logan is very handsome, enigmatic, and protective. Aster is such an amazing character, strong, smart, and brave. Her quest for freedom is breathtaking! They are both fantastic characters, and they are perfect together. Their past is intense, and heartbreaking. The cast of side characters is impressive. I loved Gage, and JuniBee! They are amazing kids! The Lawson's brothers are amazing! The plot is well crafted and captivating. The storyline is filled with angst, secrets, and family drama. There is a lot going on in this story, and I liked the mafia underworld. The Epilogue is so beautiful! The audio production is perfection! Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I HIGHLY recommend it. If you like Romantic Suspense, Mafia Romance, Enemies to lovers, and Second chance to love. I am looking forward for more in the series. #ValentinePR

Wonderful Narration

If I see Zachary Webber’s name as narrator I now I’m going to love the audiobook, Erin Mallon though was new to me but together they made Never Look Back a joy to listen to as they brought Logan and Aster Rose to life imbuing every ounce of pain these characters went though into their portrayals.

Never Look Back is a beautiful, second chance romance with all the feels as secret first loves Logan and Aster meet again in less than auspicious circumstances. The love has turned to hate as both are labouring under misapprehensions about the other but Aster has surely suffered the most, let down by the one person who should’ve protected her but who instead handed her over to a monster to be abused during the intervening seven years. My heart hurt for everything she went through but her memories gave her the strength to carry on. There is fantastic chemistry between the hero and heroine despite a lack of trust as they slowly rebuild their relationship. Full of twists and turns involving missing jewels, this is a fantastic slow burn story as the hero and heroine somehow manage to find their way back to each other despite what seems like the entire world being against them. Now I’m hoping for a book involving Taylor and her hot biker.

Emotional, passionate and packed full of heat!

Never Look Back is book three in the Redemption Hills series and is the enemies to lovers, close proximity, second chance romance of Logan Lawson and Aster Costa.
AL Jackson is the queen of angst, suspense and emotions and Never Look Back is no exception.
Seven years ago, Logan and Aster were torn apart by misunderstanding, greed, and desolation. Noe logan finds himself sat across the poker table from Aster’s husband with her as the stake.
Aster has been through so much in her life and her arranged marriage has beat her down over the years. She has thought about the one who got away a lot throughout the years, her one true love Logan, so imagine her surprise when he turns up at a poker game and her desperate husband puts her up as a stake. Rather than being outraged she is relieved. Will Aster and Logan rekindle their romance? Will Aster be able to protect Logan from the mob?
Logan is the youngest Lawson brother and the coolest uncle to Gage in the cage and Juni-Bee, but underneath the fun exterior is a heart that is hurting. Having been raised in an MC lifestyle, Logan has left all that behind now and has gone legit, (well almost) an illegal card game finds him face to face with not only the woman who stole his heart many years ago but her husband who destroyed his life when he stole her from him. Now that fate has thrown them together again, she his “little star” and he her “North star,” Logan will do everything in his power to keep her and keep her safe.
The incredibly talented Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon bring Ms Jackson’s words to life and my goodness, what an amazing pairing they are! Zachary brings all the dark, swoony, protective, fun-loving uncle vibes in his performance of Logan and Erin brought all the feisty, vulnerable, sweet, hurt, and emotional vibes Aster’s characters called for. The perfect duo to portray Aster and Logans rollercoaster journey.
As with all of Ms Jackson’s work I couldn’t have loved this more. She really does have a way of building the angst and suspense and draws every ounce of emotion out of not only her characters but us readers too. The perfect addition to the Redemption Hills series. Love love loved it!!!

Another Gorgeous Story from Jackson

Oh Sweet Aster, You've been a lifetime of trouble, haven't you?
Never Look Back by A.L Jackson is the third installment of the Redemption Hills series.

Even if I can't see you, I'll know you're there, and I'll find my way to you.
This was just one of the many quotes in this story that gave me all the emotions. It helped give me an understanding of the love, bond and strength Aster and Logan had for one another. This is probably one of the BEST second chance romance books I've ever read. From beginning to end I was completely hooked.

Did you know that my perfection is you?
The backstory is heartbreaking but watching Aster and Logan find their way back to each other was absolutely beautiful.
Boy did my girl Aster have a backstory that's not for the weak at heart. The strength she displayed, just to survive and the new strength she found reconnecting with Logan was outstanding to watch.
Logan loved Aster so hard, even when Aster was showing hesitation and a little bit of reservations, Logan never backed down and did everything he could to make her feel the love her has for her.

You are the end of every road
Little Star and North Star always find their way to each other. I adored this part of the story. Their love was so beautiful

Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber were absolutely fantastic. Erin let Asters strength show through while allowing her to be vulnerable at the same time. Zachary always gives us the best playful reformed playboy. He made Logan fun while also allowing us to feel the heartbreak of losing Aster the first time.

Never Look Back was such an emotional ride in the best way possible. Overall, I loved this story - Can't wait to see what comes next!

What a fantastic addition to this amazing series!

AL Jackson always plays with my heart. The Redemption Hills Series is fantastic, with wonderful characters, each easy to relate to and now that with the third book, it feels like I am part of the community! This is Logan's story, and it's wonderful! Logan and Aster were in love, but circumstances pulled them apart. Now 7 years later, Logan wins his first love in a card game and he is determined to keep her. Aster has not given her heart to anyone since Logan, but this doesn't mean she wants to be with him. But given 30 days by her father, she is ready to figure out a way out of her abusive marriage and prove her husband is not loyal to the family. But will she be able to resist Logan? This book is the best of everything. A little enemies to lovers, reunited love, romantic suspense and a little mafia! Logan is the perfect book boyfriend. A little flawed, a lot focused on the love of his life, he is steadfast in keeping her safe and finding resolution. Aster is a strong woman, as she realizes she is in charge of her own life. I love these two together, and getting a look at our favorites from the first two books is just icing on the cake. Gage still owns my heart though, he is adorable!

Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon are our storytellers and what a story they tell. This is one of the best teams out there, and they just know how to bring a story to life. Webber holds the alpha protective nature of Logan first and foremost, but he also is sweet and loving. Mallon shows us the growth in Aster as she comes out, knows what she wants and goes after it. This book and series is a must listen!

Get the tissues ready!

This is the kind of story that you have to read when you have tissues ready. Aster and Logan were true loves who ended up separated by Aster’s father and soon to be husband; her father was the head of the mafia and her husband, his right hand. Seven years later, they meet again, he wins her in a bet and they end up together again, in part as revenge and in large part because their love can’t die. Angsty, especially when the flashbacks showed what they went through, especially Aster, who had to make a difficult decision that affected a long period of her time. There were moments of levity with Logan’s brothers (they were the main characters of the two prior books in the series which I didn’t read but now plan to! I didn’t have trouble keeping up with this story tho so this is a standalone novel.) and there were plenty steamy and swoons moments. A well rounded interesting story that was elevated through the narration by Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber. What a perfect cast for this story, full of emotion and played perfectly by these two narrators.

Wrong voice for Astra

Hard to listen to.
Erin Mallon’s voice for Astra was too old and was a mismatch for Zachary Webber’s voice. At one point it sounded like she had a sore throat. Put me off listening to the story.

Medium

After the first two in this series I was looking forward to this book so much. Zac’s narration was good as always but Erin’s male voice was too soft and at times hard to listen to. She is normally breathy but this was hard. Good story though and loved the Riot of Roses reference to A.L’s earlier Rockstar series.
