Publisher's summary

"A diabolical tour de force." (P.J. Vernon, author of Bath Haus)

"Impossible to stop reading.” (Samantha Downing, USA Today best-selling author of For Your Own Good)

"One hell of a ride... Absolutely brilliant.” (Jennifer Hillier, award-winning author of Jar of Hearts and Little Secrets)

First comes love. Then comes murder.

Lucas Forester didn’t hate his wife. Michelle was brilliant, sophisticated, and beautiful. Sure, she had extravagant spending habits, that petty attitude, a total disregard for anyone below her status. But she also had a lot to offer. Most notably: wealth that only the one percent could comprehend.

For years, Lucas has been honing a flawless plan to inherit Michelle’s fortune. Unfortunately, it involves taking a hit out on her.

Every track is covered, no trace left behind, and now Lucas plays the grieving husband so well he deserves an award. But when a shocking photo and cryptic note show up on his doorstep, Lucas goes from hunter to prey.

Someone is on to him. And they’re closing in.

Told with dark wit and a sharply feminist sensibility, Never Coming Home is a terrifying tale of duplicity that will have you side-eyeing your spouse as you dash to the breathtaking end.

Absolutely loved it!

Excellent narrator for an awesome story. I loved the wild ride NEVER COMING HOME takes you on. Alex Wyndham did a great job showing Lucas’s personality. This was my first book by Hannah Mary McKinnon, and I’m looking forward to reading more!

Pet peeve

OK, I can agree with others that this story was way too predictable. However, it was an interesting story and moved at a good pace, so I didn’t have trouble staying engaged. Overall, I liked it. One problem with the story, though was that well, never mind I don’t want to give away any spoilers.

My main issue was with the narration. I listen to audiobooks 6 to 8 hours a day as well as when I go to bed. I know that seems counterintuitive, but trying to focus and listen on a story, actually calms my brain down more than without a story, otherwise I would lie there while my brain thinks of 1000 things at a time. That being said, my biggest issue with this narration was the variation in the volume of it. There were several areas of whispering and I couldn’t hear that at all at night. That’s very frustrating because you either have to rewind it and listen to it again or just miss whole areas of the story.

Predictable

Although I listened to the end, I had corrrctly guessed the outcome long before it was revealed in the story.

tough through it

So at the beginning, the narrator sounds like every sentence is a question and I was about to bash my head in a wall. But tough through it! it gets better! And the story is a great thriller!

Eye roll

I did not enjoy this book. It manages to be both unnecessarily complicated and disappointingly simple at the same time.

Ok for a daily deal

My favorite character was Roger the dog. The dark humor and the narrator kept me listening on a long drive. Clever ending.

WOW. What a ride!

Unbelievably good. I couldn't stop listening. I laughed so many times. The author's humor was delightful. The performance was one of the best I've ever heard. I loved everything about this book. I highly recommend it.
