I lived this book
I love this book, but I also lived it. Eight years ago my amazing, beautiful mom died from this disease. Every story Alison McGhee described in this perfect book is
true. It left me gasping and sobbing for my mom. I hope that all of the care givers in this world read this book as they help their loved ones take this horrible walk. The suggestions and techniques Ms. McGhee describes are so correct . . . never use the word "remember."

The author seemed depressed and self-absorbed.
I felt the story. It was about a self absorbed woman who is focused on her high school, boyfriend, and anger towards her mother. I kept hoping something exciting was going to happen or surprising, but I felt it was all pretty predictable. I couldn’t wait for it to be over by the end.
