In March 2020, our world changed in a seismic way. We were forced to social distance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and could no longer meet in person for networking and other in-person meetings. Virtual communication, and Zoom in particular, became an integral part of our daily lives.
This book chronicles those times via a combination of real-time reporting, psychological analysis, and virtual networking principles and tips. Living through these tumultuous times has caused people to initially react with some shock, and then pivot, adapting to the current normal by learning new technologies and staying positive.
Readers will learn about networking then and now, and take a glimpse into the most likely future. The goal of the book is to share as much useful and relevant information about virtual connecting as possible, and to frame it in such a way as to embrace it by focusing on the positive aspects of virtual networking.
This analysis considers the diverse psychological and practical aspects of virtual communication. How do we use it, when do we use it, and how are virtual skills similar to meeting in person? Additionally, there are case studies, applications to other types of groups, and a detailed analysis of Zoom technology and etiquette. The LinkedIn tips and strategies will take readers’ profiles and networks to another level.
Both new and experienced networkers will derive immediate benefits from reading the book. Readers will learn every major aspect of virtual networking and develop the requisite skills to survive in the virtual age. Virtual networking truly offers connecting with no limits.
