Interesting world

The reader just read. Monotone and without emoting; like an AI programed to sound like she smokes 3packs a day.

Ever hear of a reaper with a pet turtle?

Piper Shaw works the Netherworld Paranormal Police Department as a retriever. She's tough, an immortal and likes to work alone. Along comes a Reaper that is assigned to be her partner. At first she resents this and then decides there are some advantages to having him as a partner. Eventually with attacks against the PPD thinning out their ranks they need more officers and someone has to take them under their wing. Piper is still getting used to her partner and now they are forcing her to work/train newbies. For someone that doesn't call for backup until the last resort, she's not happy with this at all. Reaper the reaper has a pet turtle he talks to which seems quite odd to piper. But this turtle isn't,t any ordinary turtle.
I hadn't heard this narrator before and I found I actually liked her. I have also listened to The Las Vegas PPD series and I think I like. this one better.

Laugh out loud

The story had me laughing out loud! This is a boxed set with the individual books clearly defined instead of being one long list of chapters. The stroy line is fun, filled with naughty humor and well written characters. The narrator has a pleasant voice, but could work on her delivery. Sometimes it's a little hard to hear the differences between characters. I would definitely listen again!

Another fun series in the Paranormal Police Department world

A great deal for one low credit. I really enjoyed the storyline and appreciated all the humor. Filled with inappropriate innuendo, but nothing too spicy. Just a lot of fun.

Also appreciate the author's wife narration. You can tell it was her first time and by the end of the series, she found her groove.

Good story, robotic, emotionless narrator.

I’m enjoying the story, in the early stages. However, I fight in incredibly hard to have much feeling in the book because the narrator doesn’t seem excited to read the book. The delivery is very monotone and flat, robotic, devoid of emotion. There may be a reason for this, and I haven’t figured it out yet, but it pulls me out of the story. I think had a preview the title before I got it, I might have not gotten it. Which is unfortunate because the story is pretty cool. But if I’m going to spend 14 hours with a title, I’d like to be able to audibly enjoy it. Maybe a change of tone for different characters, different cadence for different characters, something. I’m sure she’s quite nice and she reads very well, but there’s no life behind the words. Other than that, I’m enjoying the story.
