I hate Zombie stories! I LOVE these Authors!

When I first started the series I was thinking what the heck all I do is listen to space operas and James Patterson books. Then I got into this book the sheer military prowess captivated me not only was it realistic science fiction. It was downright hard-core military. These authors got military doctrine down. They even didn't screw up the Navy doctrine. Everything was precise down to the letter. This prequel is no different I cannot wait for them to finish the story however but I appreciate this prequel perfect perfect perfect. I recommend anybody who loves sheer military doctrine along with a good solid storyline to do this series. You will not put it down, you will not stop listening to it. All you will be able to do is bite your nails and wait for the next book to come out because this is the most exciting storyline I have ever listen to in the last three years. Thank you Mr. Fuchs and thank you for all that you do for us military guys! PHOORAH!

I have to give it to the author

This guy is one of the masters of the Zombie genre. I love this series. I love the technical details of the operators. The statements they make in the heat of battle, as well as in the midst of the suck, strike such a familiar military tone. Super suspenseful and always filled with characters you hope will live the turn another page...

On the edge of your seat impressive!

This is writing; this is the way an apocalypse end-of-the-world treatise should be written. Excellent! The excitement and action started at the prologue and didn’t let go until the epilogue. Triple Nickel is our boys against The Stronghold of Al-Shabab in The Horn of Africa. Book #8.5 Nemesis is a standalone novel, as an intro to the series, or at any point alongside the main series. The book chronicles the war between Triple Nickel, Al-Shabab, and the hoard of undead making their way towards The Stronghold. It is a great bit of writing, totally captivating, on the edge of your seat impressive. R.C. Bray is awesome as well. A definite must read to any military apocalypse survival fan whether you’re following the entire series or not. Perfect five!

Favorite since the first!

Introducing 555 breathed so new life into this amazing series. I loved this book, and RC BRAY killed it again. Good thing we don't have to wait long for the next installment as this series is a ton of fun!

The Arisen Stand-Alones stand on their own!

RC Bray's work is still one some of the best in narration. I find myself liking the Arisen Stand Alone books almost more than the main storyline.

Does My Badass Look Big In This?

Fast, intense and explosive on a grand scale. Quite how Michael Stephen Fuchs does it I am really not too sure. I’m just glad that he does. Few other authors manage to keep up such a high action to content ratio and keep you hooked on how his various super-strong operators manage to push through impossible situations one after the other. For sustained excitement and tension I am not sure I have found a series that beats this one.

The narration? R.C. Bray doing the Arisen series. This narrator, within this genre, is about as good as it gets.

So when should you read this one? The publisher says “any time” and you definitely could if you wanted to. However, while it’s described as a prequel it’s a story that runs alongside the main series. There are a few spoilers (though not much to those familiar with the genre) and so I’d say that as things stand in published audiobooks there is an “ideal” reading order if I’m being picky.

You definitely should go for book 0.5 Genesis before this one but that can come before or at any time during the main series. I would read the main series up to Book 8, Empire of the Dead also before this one. It should fall together nicely this way. That’s being picky but I think it would work best that way as some of the ways the zombies and their behaviour evolve throughout the main series is summarised in this one and the two stories do point towards each other at the very end.

Whatever way you do it, if you like one you’ll like the rest. Excepting a possible slight slump in book 7 this has been an incredibly fast-paced, intense and enjoyable series and I see no reason why it couldn’t continue to be so.

Cracking pace!

Just brilliant. I had to take 2 days annual leave because there was no way I could stop listening to it. It's got all the energy of the Arisen series and if you've listened to any of the other books, very relatable characters.

Excellent!

By far the most thrilling book in the series so far. No useless filler, story not stretched for the sake of length and narrator on point!

The best in the series

Improved character building and a very well thought through storyline. However, the constant sycophantic writing about special forces is INCREDIBLY weary!!! The author needs to get real and understand the reality of people in these roles...gods they are not. Infallible they often are...do your research and give your books a sense or realism beyond comic book prose.

Excellent side story!

I was a little unsure of this one because of how it sat in the series, but I was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't a bad trip backwards at all.

This really set up and let me understand how and what happened at the start of the ZA and some of the reasons to why. I can totally see the next book getting really complicated and scary and all sides coming together for a big fight.

I was so excited to get to the end of this, and move forwards. Thank you for the huge amount of weekly entertainment this has totally made my start to love zombies. Not sure if that's a good thing, as I started watching TWD as well. haha.

Fab job from all parties as well. 5 stars for this one.

Totally awesome!!

As with the previous books, this was excellent. I loved how we were able to meet some new characters and see how their story fits into the big picture. It's a shame some of my favorite characters had to die though :-( Keep up the excellent work and as always R.C Bray was epic.

I had my doubts...but it was AWESOME!

What made the experience of listening to Nemesis the most enjoyable?

I love R.C. Bray's narration and the story line is fast and engaging.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really loved and enjoyed all of the characters. They were all well rounded and engaging.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

When you think it can' get any worse...think again.

Any additional comments?

I'm never sure about stand alone books, I've seem some work and others not so much. I was worried and hesitated to download this book because I love the series so much and thought it wouldn't be the same without the characters I'd come to love and know. Well knock me down with a feather it was fantastic. I should of trusted the author and narrator more.

It was a great listen all round.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT RCB WAS AT HIS BEST.

OMG RCBray just goes from great to fantastic in this stand alone release - his descriptions of the equipment and action are amazing and correct
The pace of the story is just insanely fast and brilliant. Not to be missed by anyone who is a fan of the Arisen epic. Thank you RCB.
