Publisher's summary

Jaded veteran, badass arsenal, corrupt authority: a recipe for punishment.

Meet Jack, a jaded vet from Earth. During the day he’s a nobody who is shunned and abused. However, at night he’ll grow to be an ungodly powerhouse that would put fear in the hearts of the rich and corrupt. He’ll use every bit of courage, and ingenuity to wreak vengeance on anyone who messes with him or his friends.

And while his living is rough, there’s something more dreadful afoot. People vanish in the night. Portals are opening in the city, unleashing demons, and a great army approaches, seeking to conquer the land. Jack will have to act fast. He’ll need to face all manner of monsters to protect what’s his, yet the worst are not the demons outside the city walls.

Great story - fun MC

As someone who listens to enough audio to have a library of stores I never finished, this one was enjoyable and fun. A little shorter than i typically listen to but it was fast moving and the system of the world is really cool. I like the way the main character levels up as well as the power that they are given is very unique and encouraging to see how smart they are with it

Would gladly recommend to anybody who loves LITRPG

Little edge lord but it’s all good

The MC is a man who decks himself out in gilded armor use a sword and has Powers like call of the void void locker and plays the role of a vigilante One thing I wasn’t so sure about was the fact that he only surrounded himself with female characters at the start but by the halfway point he had some male companion as well in the end I liked the book and can’t wait for The second one to come out

MC is not OP..but book was still good

The mc has cool powers but he struggles through a lot of encounters and comes across alot of people that can wipe the floor with him. He might get OP eventually but in this book he is to low level..

a litRPG with gritt

if you like rpg with the systems, like primal hunter and he who fights monsters, this will probably be up your ally. it's a bit heavier than the others in terms of how it describes fights, which feel more visceral. So far, all the characters have been interesting and the story itself has had me gripped since the first chapter.

Not the best but Ok.

Interesting concept and interesting system. First, I must say, whoever wrote in review’s that the main character is OP obviously doesn’t know what that means. it is true that the main character gains abilities fast but that’s always true when you’re at a low level. unfortunately, the main character is not very intelligent, and it becomes obvious as many of the events in the story would not have happened if he has used his brains a little bit. One example is were he is sneaking in to attack somebody and suspects someone may jump out at him and he does not use his metal sensing ability to see if somebody is hiding. Despite the fact, he decided earlier to use it in such a situation like this. This is just one of many stupid decisions he makes to help further the storyline. Many things like this helps to turn this potentially excellent story into only a mediocre plot-line. By the end of the story, I was just hoping it would be over, for I have no further interest in reading anymore in this series.

Meh

The guy reading the story was pretty good and capable, managing to perform pretty much all the characters I believe. But I wasn’t to fond of the main character the story revolves around, a selfish coward of a man, in the place where a hero probably should’ve been.

Meh.

i expected more action. MC is a bit on the slow side and does the bare minimum with his abilities.

The abilities, the abilities, the abilities

The MC is new to the world where he is told that a specific girl works with an order that hunts and kills people like him. He then begins to sell her information about his class, his levels, and every ability he has. Every time he levels up or gets a new ability he sells her the information. Now why would you do a thing like that when people can use that information to kill you? I struggle with his intelligence level. I understand that the MC cannot be prefect for the story to progress however if the MC needs to be this flawed for the story to progress then maybe just scrap the story and start again.
