Story
It took me over 35 years to admit to myself that I’m gay, another seven to find the courage to say it out loud to anyone else, and exactly 30 seconds to develop a massive crush on my daughter’s music teacher. It’s really not my fault. Have you even seen those cute bowties he wears? After everything it’s taken to get here, am I going to work up the nerve to come out to my ex-wife and my best friends?

Story
I never thought a night out could change everything. All I wanted was to dance, drink, maybe take a cute guy home for a night of fun. I met the guy, but the night ended as a nightmare. Screams and blood and tragedy haunt my dreams. I'm alive and I owe it all to the gorgeous marine who refused to leave me for dead. But how can I start a new relationship when I'm not even sure who I am anymore?

Story
Saying I've had a crush on my best friend's older brother, Pax, most of my life is like saying the big bang was just an explosion. It's true, but I'm not sure that quite captures the essence of its true enormity. I don't think my advanced physics knowledge is going to help me figure this one out. But I think for once I'm okay with not knowing, as long as Pax and I don't know together.

Story
I’ve been living under storm clouds since my honorable discharge, but Julian’s the sun. I’ve tried everything to deal with my PTSD, but nothing seemed to help. So when my brother suggests a service dog, I figure I don’t have anything to lose. The last thing I expect is for the dog to come with a cheerful, quirky trainer I can’t get out of my head. I’m too screwed up for love, but a chance to explore a side of myself I didn’t realize existed until recently is too good to pass up.

All my life, I’ve dreamed of one thing: the perfect movie moment. I want a man and his boombox outside my window; I want kissing in the rain; I want a romantic hero who will take my breath away. Switching mail with my cute neighbor didn’t work. Swapping coffee with a hottie at the coffee shop just got the poor barista yelled at. And bus guy? Total bust. I’m starting to wonder if Hollywood got the whole meet-cute thing wrong. Sacrilege, I know. Is it possible the perfect leading man has been living in the apartment above me the entire time, playing the role of my best friend?

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

Austin never realized he was painting his life with shades of gray, until Keaton came along and injected a rainbow of color. Keaton is a tornado of chaos and paint, which turns out to be more exciting than I ever would’ve imagined. I love my organized, predictable life...or at least I thought I did. But what started as a casual hookup is slowly becoming so much more, and I find myself loving the beautiful mess more than I expected. Can two people so different really make it work once feelings get involved?

I've been in love with my best friend since forever. Okay, fine. Like, kindergarten. It started out platonic, obviously, but then became.... Nope. Still platonic. The problem is that Parker Ellis has been straight since forever. And that makes it difficult to convince him that the two of us are meant to be together. And now, there's no point. All is lost. He's gone and gotten engaged to his high-school sweetheart - which means I have to grin and bear it, while pretending to be the happy, supportive best man, while he prepares to commit his life to a woman.

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

It started out as a little fun. When there was a man in my building on a hookup app, why not message him? Only we didn’t meet. We just texted - one night after the other, after the other. GoodWithHisHands was the perfect escape from my life, where pressure was always on my shoulders: my father’s expectations, the worry about my sister, Maddy, getting sick again, and her ex-husband, Ryder Lynwood, suddenly back and volunteering at the same hospital as me. I like talking to him, the same way I enjoy chatting with GoodWithHisHands. They weren’t supposed to be the same person.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer. I need this. I also need Beau to wear a shirt. Publisher's Summary
My new neighbor is a total tool
He hated me from the second he laid eyes on me, and I don't have the first clue why.... But, if he wants to hate me, I'm happy to give him a few reasons: mowing the lawn at dawn on the weekend, leaving garbage cans in front of his driveway, renting a petting zoo for my backyard...making a list of ways to drive him crazy is half the fun.
He deserves it with the way he's driving me crazy right back without even trying - walking around without a shirt on, sweaty rippling muscles on full display, well-worn denim jeans perfectly molded to his...well, you get the idea.
My point is, if he wants a war, I'll give him one.
Nailed is an enemies to lovers, neighbors who can't stand each other, omg the anger banging, drool worthy, low angst story, which happens to be the second in my Four Bears Construction Series. It CAN be listened to as a standalone. There are NO shifters in this series, only the OTHER kind of bears.

Another great book in this series. I love how low the drama and high the connection is in this book. These guys have awesome chemistry, you just can't help falling in love with their love story. Oh and hello boys and dogs...I am completely swooning.

Great story - only good narration
Nailed has the same two narrators as Caulky and while they are both more than competent - good diction, intonation, pacing - one narrator is definitely stronger than the other - richer tone, better emotional representation of the words on the page - which is something noted in Caulky but amplified in Nailed. Also noted in this book with the “weaker” narrator, a number of inexplicable mispronunciations. It happens too often to be chalked up to inadvertent mistakes. If you’ve read Caulky and then you immediately read Nailed, you may encounter an additional issue: a character “schism” in Stone due to two very different voices from one book to the other. He is given a very deep “dumb as rocks” voice in Caulky, but in Nailed, his voice is completely different - much more upbeat, similar to Cole’s voice in Caulky. The result is that you may find yourself forced into “unhearing” and “unlearning” Stone first, and then readjusting to his new voice. It’s disconcerting at first but does fade away after a few chapters. Overall, this narrative pair is still good and enjoyable to listen to, and much better than other narrators out there, but be forewarned of the above if you are a sensitive listener.
In terms of the story, Nailed is the second installment in the Four Bears Construction series, which follows two brothers and their two best friends, all co-owners of the titular construction company, as they each try to find their HEA. Stone is the subject of this book and it tracks his enemies-to-lovers relationship with his next door neighbor, Dare. Dare is developed well with a good level of complexity. Notwithstanding his abrasiveness, he is actually very likeable. Credit to the author in developing the character to this degree. Dare’s absolutely adorable dog, Rudy, makes himself a resident of Dare and Stone’s households, and becomes a “matchmaker” of sorts. But let’s just call out the big draw to this book: the smoking hot, (at least initially) angry, sex. There’s character development with the other co-owners, Ollie and Ev, setting them up for the next two books. The introduction of Dare’s nephew West, is a bonus: his interactions with Dare are a great vehicle for seeing Dare’s “softer” side, hidden beneath the hardened exterior. Caulky was very good; this book is even better and totally hooks you into the remainder of the series. Highly recommended read if this trope and set up (and hot sex) ticks off your boxes. Or just read it for Rudy … it’s worth it.

Great Narration, Great Story
I loved the narrators for this audio. They imbued Stone and Dare with the liveliness they deserved. A good book coupled with excellent narration...it’s a good thing. (This review is very similar to my book review)
Stone does what he can to get a his sexy neighbors goat, even if it means renting goats to do it. Dare just wants his new neighbor to let him sleep in on weekends without some kind of annoying noise. Oh, and quit giving his dog treats.
Stone and Dare, a match not made in heaven. They rub each other in all the wrong ways, until they figure out that rubbing each other the right way is so much more satisfying.
Nicely written, well developed characters, and great storyline made this a very enjoyable book to listen to. Rudy kind of stole the limelight and when Nards came along the story really went to the dogs (sorry, with the silly puns I couldn’t resist). Enjoyed it.

two actors too confusing for me
I couldn't tell who was talking, especially after listening to book one immediately beforehand, where the MC of this book, Stone, was given a really deep voice. This installment he has a young cheeky twink like voice and his opposite MC , Dare, has the deep growly voice.
As with book 1, the two actors trade off chapters so they voice the parts of both their MC and their opposite during their chapter. So each character has two voices. argh. I just could not keep track. The story was good but couldn't hold my attention as I couldn't follow the dialogue internal and external.

Enemies to lovers.
Dare is totally fed up with his obnoxious and rowdy neighbour Stone. However his dog Rudy is totally smitten with the man.
Stone has fun in egging his uptight but super hot neighbour. The men find they are compatible after all and find their HEA/ HFN. Great narration by both Liam and Tim. Can't wait to hear the other books in the series.

There’s always a good dose of humor, a lot of love, and both characters and a story that you just can’t help but love. The narrators of this one were both new to me and they were spectacular! I’ll definitely look for more from them future.

Nailed it!
Stone (weird name), one of the Four Bears Construction boys, is determined to irritate Dare (weirder name), his next-door neighbour in this enemies-to-lovers romance. Dare took an instant dislike to Stone when he moved in, so being a mature adult, Stone makes it his life’s mission to rile him up - cue the hate sex! I must be getting old because I felt a lot of sympathy for Dare and I actually couldn’t stand Stone at first. Despite the badly behaved beginning, these two guys totally won me over and I was cheering for their happy ending. I’m glad I stuck with the series, I much preferred this story to Caulky (book 1), Nailed doesn’t rely on crazy coincidences and the subplots involving the dogs, Dare’s anger management issues, and his nephew, West, were all interesting. Audio narrators, Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo did a great job, I think Liam particularly ‘nailed’ Stone’s character and voice!
