It's Eh...

The story line certainly kept my attention, but moved slowly at times. The narrators were easy to understand but completely lacked emotion. Their interpretation of the male characters especially were flat and emotionless. For such an emotionally charged story I expected to be moved yet never really felt engaged. The ending is anti-climactic. There is no fowl language or overly descriptive sex scenes however and would or be a decent story if listening with children present.

How Lives Are Affected

Not exactly sure where I stand on this book. I can't really say I enjoyed it but it was really interesting. The effect on a life when a parent is accused of murder is pretty mind boggling. So much wasted time after getting caught up in all the 'evidence' presented by the court and by the media. I can easily see this happening now with people so engrossed in what the hear and see on social media and television. A sad state of affairs.

So much precious time is lost between an incarcerated mother and a mentally 'messed up' daughter. I would recommend the book if only to see the power of the media and justice system and the ability to twist things around.

great book!

Made be feel happy, sad, thankful, angry, ashamed, proud, understanding and confused. I think that's exactly what a good book is suppose to do. I enjoyed listening to this book very much and would recommend it to anyone . The narrator was one of the best I've heard. The topic of this book is hard to read a!bout and one I have had mixed feelings about, this book changed my thinking.

A Thought Provoking Story

I enjoyed this read. The plot involved some non typical situations and provoked a few tears, but overall it was satisfying to see how the characters dealt with challenges.

You don’t want to stop listening and you can connect with the characters emotionally. Best book I have read in a while.

Moving, beautiful story of a mother-daughter relationship

I really wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I absolutely loved it. One of my very favorites this past year. Prepare for all the feels. Just read it!

Stick with it, the ending is good

Overall I enjoyed this book. It started off slow and I felt dragged a bit in the middle but eventually the plot picked up some momentum. This is a good story that delves into the the strength of the mother-daughter bond.

If you're a crier like me, avoid being in a Starbucks midday while listening to the end.
