Publisher's Summary

Dawn Conners's parents are famous for finding historic treasures, but she has a knack for losing things - her job, her boyfriend, and now, her reputation. Thanks to a mud-slinging exposé, Dawn's late great-grandfather is assumed guilty of stealing silver from a century-old shipwreck. Hoping to clear his name, Dawn returns to Starlight Cove, her idyllic hometown on Lake Michigan, where the doomed vessel sleeps beneath the beam of a ramshackle lighthouse.

Her plan: remodel and sell the lighthouse while untangling the perplexing family mystery. Neither task is easy, especially once her well-meaning parents and the quirky locals - including nautical researcher and Starlight Cove's most eligible bachelor, Kip Whittaker - get involved. Despite their attraction, Dawn is reluctant to trust Kip, or any of the close-knit townsfolk. But as she pieces together the truth, Dawn's once-shuttered heart opens up. And if she's willing, the lighthouse might guide her to a place she never expected to find, where the past entwines with a bright new beginning.

    "Cheesy but good"

I wanted to read a romantic story set near the ocean , with a little mystery involved (and not too sappy). This story fit the bill.

    "Michigan <3"

This book is wonderful! I have lived on Lake Michigan my whole life. The way the author described the feelings that come with my Great Lake, combined with the energy of living in a small tourist town made my heart flutter. I began reading this book last night, and was sad when I had to go to sleep because I didn't want to put it down. I'll be sending a copy of this book to my mom. To the author: thank you!

    "Great story , completely entertaining!"

Not sure how I even tripped across this book, but boy am I glad I did! First I was excited that it was 11 hours long, I love the long ones, and of course if they are entertaining!
This book had a little bit of everything, a beautiful small town on the coast of MI, the fixing up of a Lighthouse, a wonderful bit of history, a treasure hunt, love, and so much more!
This is well worth the credit for all you easy listeners out there that just want to listen to a feel good book and be throughly entertained!!
Late Rudd does a great job narrating and I will definitely look for more books by Cynthia Ellingsen.

"Entertaining story line but has some flaws."

The characters are likable but there was one (or two) many times explaining her trust issues. It made me fast forward a couple of times. The voice sounded system generated often.

    "Delightful Mystery"

This is the first time I listened to this narrator and the first book I've listened to by this author. The story line was interesting and lighthearted. The narrator kept my attention. A good summer story.

    "Totally enthralling"

From the first chapter to the last, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was fun to read and the action was just enough to keep me thinking about what might come next. I especially appreciated the narrator. She was able to provide different, pleasing intonation to the variety of voices in the story. I will look for more of the books from this author. You will be pleased with this one!

    "Distracting Narrator"

The narrator often sounds robotic. She over pronounces every syllable which makes for a disjointed and distracting flow of speech.
I'm about half way through the book and I'm also not thrilled with the skill of the author, although I do think it ranks higher than the narrator. Some of the internal thoughts of the main character, her judgmental reactions to people, her over-reactions, are not realistic and draining. You can tell that the author was just trying to make things more dramatic which unfortunately takes away from the story.

    "Truly"

Not worth the time. If I did not have to deal with insomnia this book would not have been listened to. I found the story predictable and somewhat adolescent. I also do not think it is well written. The narrator is just ok

"Great plot of shipwreck & treasure hunt mystery"

As a Michigan person, I loved the setting in a small touristy town on the lake. The characters are believable although some are quirky. Loved the descriptions of the lighthouse renovation. Throughly enjoyed the mystery!
