After a party when her parents are away, 18-year-old Kerry Dowling is found fully dressed at the bottom of the family pool.

The immediate suspect is her boyfriend, who had a bitter argument with her at the party. Then there is a 20-year-old neighbor who was angry because she didn't invite him to the party.

Or is there someone else who has not yet been seen on the radar?

Not interesting enough for adults

Too cookie-cutter. Predictable and boring really. I would not recommend as suspenseful. You can see the villain coming a mile away! LaVoy is the only good part.

Good,not great, but GOOD.

I love novels by Mary Higgins Clark.

These books are easy to read, friendly, with mysteries solved without difficulty. People are undoubtedly good or obviously evil.

Good feelings are part of the ending.

Breathe in and remember her books give us strength.

I’ve Got My Eyes on You

I’ve Got My Eyes on You is a police procedural, a character driven story. Parents arrive home to find a messed up house, evidence of a huge party, and the the body of their teenaged daughter floating in the swimming pool. Detectives show up, and we’re off and running with a murder mystery. This who-done-it is very typically Mary Higgins Clark, i.e., a good mystery that is also a terrific beach-read or super entertainment for a long road trip.

No explicit sex, no objectionable language, a clean read. Don’t hesitate to give as a gift, teens included.

Narrated by January LaVoy, short – just over six hours of listening in unabridged audiobook format. Released in April, 2018 by Simon & Schuster.

Predictable

There were a couple of characters that looked good for the guilty party but there was one that was too obvious. It’s always disappointing when you’re pretty sure who it is, as you move forward to listening throughout the book.

Kinda boring...

Nothing too exciting about this story. Forced myself to finish listening to it. Can’t quite understand what the rave reviews are for.

Hard to stop listening

What did you love best about I've Got My Eyes on You?

It was easy to follow, but the story was addictive. The police investigation was quite realistic in its details and procedures.

What other book might you compare I've Got My Eyes on You to and why?

As Time Goes By is a good comparison. In both books, the characters are very realistic and easy to relate to. We get to really understand their feelings.

Have you listened to any of January LaVoy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first introduction to this narrator. We enjoyed her very much.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I always wanted to know what was happening next.

Any additional comments?

No.

A Juvenile Story Without Suspense

You knew who the killer was as soon as the character was introduced. The book seemed a little old fashioned and read more like a Nancy Drew than a Mary Higgins Clark.

Soooo Predictable!!!

Not a bad book, but I knew who the killer was very early into the story.
