Publisher's Summary

Can a man who resents the hand he’s been dealt and a woman who spends her days grateful for every little thing find true love in each other’s arms - or are their differences stronger than both of them?

Find out in this funny, sexy, heartfelt romance, and fall in love with Grant and Jules on the sandy shores of Silver Island, home to coffee shops, boat races, and midnight rendezvous.

Even war heroes need a little help sometimes....

After spending years fighting for his country and too damn long learning to navigate life with a prosthetic leg, Grant Silver returns to Silver Island to figure out a future he couldn’t fathom without fatigues and a gun in his hand. He’d almost forgotten how a man could suffocate from the warmth and caring community in which he’d grown up, and if that weren’t bad enough, his buddies’ beautiful and far-too-chipper younger sister won’t stop flitting into his life, trying to sprinkle happy dust everywhere she goes.

As a cancer survivor, Jules Steele knows better than to count on seeing tomorrow. She doesn't take a single moment for granted, and she isn’t about to let a man who used to be charming and full of life waste the future he’s been blessed with. She's determined to get through to him, even if it takes a few steamy kisses....

worth the wait and then some

I can tell you this I was so excited to get the ebook..... but I was EXCITED!!! when I got the audio. I was excited to see what two people both damaged in different ways and both came out with a different outlook on life and those around them. I loved...LOVED spending time on Silver Island again. Another couple to put under my love from Silver Lake. Community and family.

Now as I was saying in the beginning.... I am not sure where to start with what had me turning each page after page. Grant Silver and Jules Steele were just so good together. They were a match that Grant could not see happening. Jules ever the optimist was all in from go. I want to tell you everything, but I also want you to read it all for yourself. I will tell you this tho it was not easy. It is not all sunshine, roses, and happy faces. This one was work. Grant and Jules had to work for their forever. And that for me was the best part.

I believe that MF has done it again and again. She brings fresh new characters with a spin on their lives, but I could feel at the heart its family, friends, love, and so much more. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to making a new world open up to so many of us. Giving us hope and dreams.

Aiden Snow does his job to perfection. You fall in love with the characters with just his voice connection. Jennifer Mack hello you contribution was not lacking. Thank you. The characters are strong and provide a connection.

Great addition to this series!!

This was such a touching, great story and in true Melissa Foster fashion, she had me hooked to the story from the start to finished. Grant, a disabled yet angry veteran for all that he has lost while struggling to find his present life while being reclusive and distant from those who truly care for him. Enter Jules or Pixie. She is his sister's best friend and a woman that has had feelings for him for some time. She also knows of emotional pain and does not want to see that same time of pain for Grant or his family. She brings light and positivity to Grant and wants to share her happiness for life. The pair have amazing chemistry together and a roller coaster of an emotional story to boot. Also in true Melissa Foster fashion, family plays such an important roll for this pair as it does with all of her books. In the audio version that was narrated by Jennifer Mack and Aiden Snow and this pair did a great job bringing the story to life and making it an enjoyable listening experience. Overall, this was a great read that I enjoyed from page one. I would also recommend this book to others.

EXCELLENT!

I am enjoying this series! There is plenty of drama, humor, happiness and romance! The chemistry between these opposites makes you impatient to find out what is going to happen next. The narration was excellent and kept me entertained. The author did an excellent job with the character builds and plot. I can't wait to read the next book! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Absolutely Loved!!

When an IED explosive not only cost Grant his military career, he also lost part of his leg and most of his hearing in one ear. Moving back to Silver Island was not in his plans. He spends most of his time angry and alone until his sister's best friend decides it's her mission to bring him back to the person he was before.

Jules sees the bright side of any situation. She's had a crush on Grant forever and is determined to help him find his way back to his family and friends. As she inserts herself into Grant's life, he realizes it's easy to confide in her about his lost military career, the riff with his father and how he doesn't know what to do with the rest of his life. When the chemistry between Jules and Grant is to much to deny, they embark on a love story for the ages. Jules is the sunshine to his darkness and with her in his life, anything is possible.

My Thoughts on My True Love

Grant and Jules were the stars of this emotional, endearing, fantastic listen by Melissa Foster. This was a little bit older man younger woman, a little bit little sister’s best friend, a little bit friend’s little sister, a little bit small town romance but a whole lot one I would highly recommend. Grant was this gruff war veteran, who has to adjust to life with a whole lot of changes and loss and back in his hometown where there were already issues and family drama at play. Jules was this bright, happy, optimist who just wanted to make the most of her second chance at life she’d been given as a child and wanted to bring joy to those around her. Especially her best friend’s big brother. He just also happened to have been her older brother’s childhood friend. And the guy she’s been crushing on for years. There were a few moments in this story that brought me to tears and some that had me smiling and feeling the happiness and love radiating through my headphones. And the performance from the narrators was perfection. I just loved all the emotion they portrayed and the energy of the happy moments and just how their voices drew me in as much as the story itself. I’m looking forward to more stories about the families on Silver Island and these narrators in future.

The best opposites attract!

Good lord if there was ever a more opposites attract story it is this one. Jules Steele is effervescent. At first, she was nearly too much for me but then you get to see why she’s so spirited. She’s a cancer survivor and lives for the moment and loves it, loves every moment. She’s in love with Grant and has been. Now Grant, Grant is a different situation entirely. Grant is surely. He’s a broken man. No one is able to get through to him. Slowly Jules starts to impart on him. He slowly starts to fall for her and it’s so beautiful. It makes you fall in love with both of them. It’s lovely.

The narration by Jennifer Mack and Aiden Snow is just perfection. I loved them. The story itself is something else but once you focus on the narration, well it’s just as magical as the story itself. Mack is a perfect Jules. Jules is upbeat and contagiously happy. It’s hard to pull that off without becoming annoying eventually. Mack was able to pull that off and then some. Snow is the perfect gruff and surely guy. He’s able to portray that personality flawlessly. Over the story, we start to see Grant change and we feel that in the narration as well.

Beautiful Story!

This is the second book in The Steele at Silver Island Series. Jules And Grant’s story is beautifully written, emotional, heartbreaking, and heartwarming afterward. Jules is such a beautiful character, sweetheart, caring, and supportive. Grant is a survivor, broken, and grumpy. They are opposites attract, but they are so perfect together. Their journey is filled with drama and romance. The supporting characters are amazing. I love the family bonds in this story. Jennifer Mack and Aiden Snow did a fantastic job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession

Everyone needs a Pixie in there lives

This is an emotional journey between two people who both had to fight for their lives. Jules is a cancer survivor who embraces each day with a smile and Grant who is an amputee who would rather hide each day. This is definitely when opposites attract and Jules slowly gets under Grants skin and brings him back into a world he starts to embrace. Really enjoyed reading this as tackled both issues sensitively, thank you Melissa for another great story, looking forward to reading move from Silver Island
I have just finished listening to this book and it was so good I didn't want to stop listening to it. The narration was really good.

Wonderful and sweet

I'm so in love with Jules and Grant, they're an amazing couple and I'm so happy they got their HEA.

Jules was amazing, I loved her determination and the way she didn't gave up on Grant despite everything.
I really liked the paced of how their relationship developed, it was so worth it.

But I think my favourite character was Crash, he deserves a mention here, he's just a great cat 😸 and make things interesting.

As for the narration it was perfect. Aiden Snow portrays Grant really great, his voice is so good. Jennifer Mack is fantastic, I loved the way she depicts every emotion, she has an amazing tone and paced that worked well for Jules.

Jules and Grant!

After serving his country Grant has returned home a changed man both physically and emotionally. He is trying to adjust to what the future holds and all he wants is to be left alone but Jules is the one person who refuses to be put off by his surly attitude.

As a child Jules faced the fight of her life head on and rather than it impacting her life in a negative way it has only made her that much more determined to enjoy every experience and appreciate everyone who comes into her life. When she sees Grant struggling, she isn’t about to let him go it alone and she is determined to show him that they are so much stronger together than apart.

This is a heartwarming story about two people who have reacted to the challenges in their life very differently. Jules is exactly what Grant needs in his life as she shows him that life is for the living and that every day that they have together is a gift. The narrators were a great choice as they brought out the sunny and uplifting personality of Jules and the emotions that Grant was feeling as he tries to adjust to his new reality. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

True Love

My True Love is the second book in the Steele’s at Silver Island series and Melissa Foster has penned another moving triumph.

Grant was a soldier who is dealing with being seriously wounded at war and living with the changes that those experiences have made in his life. He is in a dark place after all that he has experienced.
Jules is his polar opposite, happy and bright despite the cruel obstacles that life has thrown at her. She doesn’t see a disability when she she looks at grant. She sees the man.
This emotional romance would make a great summer listen. It hit me right in the feelings and was a pleasure to listen to. The pacing is great and the story is the perfect mix of sweet and emotional.
The narration by the hugely talented Jennifer Mack and Aiden Snow really brought the story to life with their great characterisation and their outstanding voice acting.

Jules has me smiling!

Escape to Silver Island to get to know Grant and Jules! This one touched my heart. Melissa Foster navigates the world of adjustments to civilian life, dealing with change and finding love, and it could not have been a better listen! Grant is cranky. There is no other word to describe the man when we first meet him, but when Jules comes into the picture, he doesn't stand a chance to keep that demeanor. Jules has sunshine beaming out of her, and there is no way her positivity isn't infectious. She was putting a smile on my face just listening to her ideas and happiness, proving that life is what you make of it. It's just a matter of attitude. Foster once again melds relevant issues into her story as we become invested in the couple, and I love it! It brings awareness as well as enjoyment. I love this couple, and think it is one of my favorite of all the books I have listened to of hers. They just shine.

Jennifer Mack and Aiden Snow are perfectly cast for these two characters. Mack has an element of warmth in her voice that leads us to that happy feeling Jules is putting out. Her voice makes smiling contagious and I spent a lot of time just happy listening! Snow is the broody military man, and he portrays every emotion Grant goes through. He is complex and Snow gives it all to us. I enjoyed this story and can't wait til the next visit to Silver Island!

Gave Me All The Feels

My True Love by Melissa Foster is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jennifer Mack and Aiden Snow. This is the second book in The Steeles at Silver Island series.

I absolutely love Melissa’s books. They always pull me in and leave a smile on my face. I loved the relationship between Grant and Jules. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Caught by Love to be released on February 9, 2022 so I can get Archer and Indi's story.

Jennifer and Aiden did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life and I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love romance books. It will give you all the feels!!!

A beautiful story with amazing characters

This book is a gift for people who love hopeful romances. Beautiful, sweet Jules and gruff but wonderful Grant coming together is truly a story to adore. Grant, a military man, lost his leg in his last mission. He's full of regret and anger. His sister's best friend, Jules, wants to help everyone and especially Grant, who she has loved for a while. Can she get him to love his new normal?

I have to say, Grant is great but Jules just touches my heart. She is the kind of person I would love to know in real life- cheerful, sweet and with a heart of gold. If only we had more people like that in real life. I rooted for her completely and cheered for her as Grant fell for her (and who wouldn't?!)

As someone who owns so much of this author's work, this one is right up there as one of my favorites. It was emotional but pure and sweet. I loved seeing characters that we met in prior books and I cannot wait for other characters (like Brant) to get their HEA. An excellent friend-to-lovers romance that I plan on revisiting again and again.

After reading the ebook, i listened to the audiobook and it was amazing, as one would expect from Aiden Snow and Jennifer Mack. Aiden Snow's low rasp is perfect for Grant but he does so well playing multiple characters. Jennifer Mack, though, is a true fine- she has this energetic, sweet voice that was absolutely perfect for Jules. I loved this audiobook!
