Publisher's summary

Christmas is not my favorite. Not since I lost my dad last year. The lights, the music, the happy people. Everything reminds me of him. And if he were around still, maybe he could get Chad to leave me alone.

On top of all that, Mr. Walker had to give us this assignment to be a Secret Santa for someone, and you'll never guess who I got. Okay, you probably can, but can you blame me for not wanting to do the assignment? Except...Chad doesn't seem to be a bad guy when his friends aren't around. He might even be someone I could like.

But can I handle letting someone in right now, especially when his ex-girlfriend and half the cheerleading squad are doing everything in their power to keep us apart?

Delightful book, delightful narrator!

As an English teacher, I am always in search for books that will appeal to young readers. So many of my students really prefer listening, and appreciating different and expressive voices. This storyline is quite appealing and the narrator completely captured mood, tone and attitudes! As an adult, I loved it!
Simply... excellent!

secrets and misunderstandings

Claire was an amazing young lady who had grace and spunk. She thought Chad was a pain but..... Throw in a secret Santa assignment which seems to get these two together and you have the makings of either an awesome friendship or the beginning of misery. Of course there are mean girls - I mean this is high school - never understood mean girls. Loved her family and best friend - more than one romance happening in this book. I listened to the audio book and the narrator was just the best. Her switching of voices was smooth and easy to distinguish between characters. I did think the ending was rushed but overall loved this book.

Not A Fan

I really don't know what was that, I feel I was in a very random dream and I have to rate this dream
the story (I think) is about Clair who works with her mom at a diner and her dad just died so she misses him very much, then we have Chad who is bullying her for no apparent reason, she hates him and wants to stay away from him, but then she get assigned as his Secret Santa, so she must get to know him to get him the perfect gift for Christmas
I have to say it again, it's been a very long while since I last felt this disoriented while reading a book, it was very random, even the climax was very underwhelming that I didn't realize that the book ended and I continued reading About The Author thinking it was part of the story !!
this is not a good start to the series
The narrator was really bad
