Publisher's summary

Ryder

It's a cliche really, falling in love with my best friend, my very straight best friend. And to add more complications, I'm a football player, about to be drafted. We're manly men. We aren't supposed to be gay. But I am and I love the one person I'll never have. Until fate forces us together six years later. It'll be both a fantasy and hell on earth, playing along Crush - the only man who will ever truly own my heart.

Crush

He dropped a bomb on me. Then he left, never looking back. Our friendship - ruined until he lands back in my life. His presence is just as big as ever. I never forgot him, or what that one kiss so many years ago still does to my body. He's here, but is he willing to stay?

Contains mature themes.

Perfection

The audible version is just the right amount of sexy from both narrators, but I wish I knew who was who. I'm determined to listen to all the m/m the one who read Crush does!! *fans self* Doesn't hurt that the story was amazing as well!

Nice story, but.......

The dialog for the children was so annoying, they spoke like 3 year olds and 12 year olds at the same time. So unbelievable.

Starting Again

I really enjoyed this story. The first thing I did was create a Spotify playlist from the song the author listed in the front of the book. This story is such a sweet second change. There are so many fun moments between the two of them. I also love the wrap of this story. This was the first time I've read this author. I picked up the paperback at the Shameless Book Convention and I will definitely be reading more.
I picked up the audio version of the story and enjoyed the dual narration very much.

I enjoy it…one thing though

The story was enjoyable…narrators did a good job. I have a simple plea to all writers. Please avoid having characters saying things like “I’m going to mark you” or You’re mine.” If these are romantic novels people should not want to own other people. If you need to keep using these expressions consider placing a warning of “trigger language.” We should move away expressions that claim ownership of another person.

A beautiful family football story.

I loved the football, the steamy scenes, and the Tennessee accents. It’s nice to see LGBTQ+ sex positivity.

Awww

I really liked this story. The two MCs were so great together. I love how they both wanted the same things and were so perfect for each other. That ex though! Oof! What a witch with a capital B!
The thing that annoyed me the most was probably the dialogue of the kids. It made no sense that 4/5 year olds talked like 2 year olds but had the vocabulary and comprehension of 8-10 year olds.
I really loved how supportive most people were—especially in the professional aspect of things.
I hope the rest of this series is available on Audible Plus!

good

I listen to books I have read mostly.
I like this group although it mostly the main characters.
the Crush narrator reminds of Rod Sterling in his delivery love Ryders narrator.

Enjoyable but...

So I liked it, the friend to lover is my favorite troupe but there's some issues. Starting with the ridiculousness of how Ryder kisses Crush, then comes out to him, but then he stops talking to him for 6 YEARS. What?!? You don't give him a chance to coke around, try to save the friendship? Then there's the devil ex-wife who is so over the top...then there's the pet names they use every time they get intimate, big country and pretty boy...GAG. Then there's the 5 year old that talks like she's 2 but supposedly smart like she's 15. Having said that, I still enjoyed parts of it... Garrison and Dallas are interesting characters, and I'm a suckered for sports romance too even through the football descriptions were cringy, too (like the authored read about football but doesn't watch it). Not perfect, but it still kept my interest
