A truly adorable take on Pygmalion!

If you love 90s/00s romcoms you’ll love this! Fun story and great performances from the narrators!

Loved! All theatre nerds will love this!

Amazing! Funny! Great Twists! Great mix of a queer rom-com and a love letter to theatre. Highly recommend.

Heart warming and real

This story seems so real that it’s easy to get pulled in and root for the protagonist! The author is amazing in his insight into the human condition is profound. great character depth. Narration is absolutely tremendous. Among the best books, I’ve listened to this year.

Loved it!

Believable story, great interaction between characters. Reminded me of my own college years. Both narrators were fantastic! Highly recommend!

The Low-Down: Young Adult. M/M. Borderline mature scene. Anxiety rep. Importance of Friendship. She's All That vibes. Reese sucks. Lots of cursing. Newsies the musical diss.

I may be biased, but I already knew going in that this was going to be a 5 out of 5 for me. I wouldn't expect anything less from Brian Kennedy. The book that catapulted me back into reading was A Little Bit Country, Brian's 2022 debut release. Brian has a special place in my heart because of it.

This book addresses a lot of the trials and tribulations that come with being a teen, like trying to find a way to fit in, while also trying to stand out, but what I loved most is that it was just normal for Wade and Elijah aka Brady to be Queer in this High School. All of the teens, not just the MCs, were comfortable in their identities, without a major coming out crisis or school bu!!ying shown on page. This was refreshing. Granted, this is also focused on a production of My Fair Lady, and it goes without saying that theater kids are a welcoming bunch.

There was still a "hierarchy of gays," which made me laugh - hot gays, cool and awkward gays, iced coffee gays, and the milkshake gays. I personally identify as both an awkward and an iced coffee gay.

Side Note: M.A. Wardell ruined this book for me. He did an interview where he talked about how easily Brian Kennedy could have added spice to this story, and it's all I could think about reading it. I think Brian Kennedy would slay an adult romance, and I'll be right here waiting for it.

Cute!!!

This was a really cute, predictable story. It was the perfect story to escape from life and just enjoy! I wish that every high school could be as open and accepting as this fictional one.

Loved it

This story was agonizing. That’s what it’s like waiting for teenagers to figure out how they feel about anything let alone someone they like. This story was fun. I agonized with reading it. Did I really want to invest that much time into a story about drama queens aka theater kids. I did go for and I’m glad I did.

The reading was good the voices were subtly different—different enough to keep up with and that’s no small thing for me.

The plot and the characters developed well.

I highly recommend this book.

IS THERE A SEQUAL? I need more!!!

This book was fantastic! The plot, the story itself, the characters! They all draw you in so much! I felt soo connected to Elijah. When the audio finished I was soo happy but at the same time sad because it was just a great listen that I want more.

The narrator also sell this novel very well! They both did a wonderful job!

Enjoyed very much

Even though I don’t read much YA anymore, this was very well written, and the performances were great! <3
