Amazing love story

The way that Cade and Gia meet is different but the way they fall in love is epic. Boy meets girl, boy tries to save girl, boy protects girl. I love how they break down each other's walls and make each other a better version of themselves.

Disappointing

I have listened to the whole Stealth Ops series and the first book in this series which I enjoyed but this one was the most disappointing and underwhelming by far.

The characters had a lot of potential in the beginning but they didn't really develop or grip me after that and I couldn't really feel chemistry, tension and love between them and I couldn't connect with them.

Cade's character was strong in the first book and it was already clear that he will sacrifice for family. He is CEO of his company but then he tried to be a bit of a fighter hero like the SEALs in the other books and Noah, but in neither instance was his character properly developed to be kickass and an alpha male, so he seemed a bit average and weak in both roles. Sahin managed to develop Noah in the previous book to a strong hero alpha male character even without him still being a soldier. I expected the same here.

Gia's character came across as immature and whiny. I think it is a combination of the writing and the narrators' interpretation and the voices used for her speaking voice.

The plot was also thin with a couple of underwhelming revelations.

What also annoyed me was the writer's description/experience of Cuba, it wasn't well researched. I was in Cuba a couple of years ago and her description is off. They drink sangria in the story. I can't recall anyone drinking sangria there. It's not a wine country, all the drinks are rum based. It also referred to them buying things at the market. Not sure what market is referred to but Cuba doesn't have a market culture due to it political structure and scarcity of goods, including spices with which Gia cooked her chicken and rice. The food there is fairly bland because of the scarcity of spices.

I struggled to get through this one and would have returned it to get my credit back if not part of a series of which I hope the next book will be better.

Rather spend a credit on a different book, this one isn't worth it.

Suspenseful mafia romance

Lots of twists and secrets. Enjoyed the storyline and the romance. Cade and Gia were complex characters and made a great couple once they let their walls down.

Loved all the secondary characters - more, please.

The narration was amazing - loved both Connor Crais, such a sexy voice, and Ava Lucas.

(tropes: age-gap, virgin, Irish mob, millionaire)

Ice King Melts

The ice king does have a heart of gold and we find it here with Gia. Cade focuses on the business and not his personal life until he sees Gia in a club and wants to know about her. Once he does, he remembers her from his past and is determined to help save her, even if she doesn’t know she needs saving.
Gia has been searching for answers for over 10 years and is trying to escape the life she has been thrown into. Will trust Case help her achieve this or get her lost into more danger?

Love this series by Brittney Sahin!

This was a nice hot listen.

The story didn't keep me interested as much as the first book 🤷‍♀️ but it was still good.

Redemption for The King

It has been quite a while since I read Cade's story. I forgot all the little details that made the story fantastic. The way the voice actors are able to bring the story to life, making you feel all the characters are going through.

Cade is so dreamy

I loved that we got Cade’s story. Cade is an alpha male who had a strong protective side that I love. Gia had been through hell as a child and an adult and came out stronger on the side. They had an unconventional love story and I loved it.

Connor Crais was dreamy and perfect as usual. Ava Lucas did a great job bringing Gia to life.

So hot!

Cade King is the epitome of sexy, and this story gives you all the heart and soul you can stand as he comes undone for Gia, a woman that he shouldn’t want, but who makes him feel things he never expected possible. Hearing this amazing story told with sexy voices makes you melt chapter after chapter. Definitely a book that you’ll feel after reading “the end.”

Left Me Breathless

Cade King is a complex man. Successful, handsome, and a bit arrogant. But he wears it well and makes no apologies. He dwells in a fast paced world and takes no prisoners. He's made questionable choices. But he's about to question everything.

Gia Callaghan has lived a life in darkness, regret, fear, and secrets. She can never be safe again.

When these two meet, there is chemistry, attraction, and danger. Neither can deny their connection. But can they learn to trust each other in order to find answers and move forward?

Narrators definitely found an effortless groove with their characters. Connor Crais portrayed Cade's intensity and frustrations amazingly well. Ava Lucas brought the fear and intensity that Gia kept inside her to readers. I could feel the anxiety and pressures. Both narrators made me feel a part of the surroundings.

Once again

Once again Brittney Sahin does another great story and while she has other books I liked better this one was good and full of twists and turns .
