Publisher's summary

Narration by Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke.

Darling Arrow,

I shouldn’t be writing this.

It’s not as if I’m ever going to send you this letter, and there are a million reasons why.

First of all, I was sent to this reform school as a punishment for a petty, totally inconsequential crime. Not to ogle the principal’s hot son around the campus.

Second of all, you’re a giant jerk. You’re arrogant and moody and so cold. Sometimes, I think I shouldn’t even like you.

But strangely, your coldness sets me on fire.

The way your athletic body moves on the soccer field and the way your powerful thighs sprawl across that motorcycle of yours make me go inappropriately breathless.

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that you, Arrow Carlisle, are not only the principal’s hot son. You also happen to be the love of my sister’s life.

And I really shouldn’t be thinking about my sister’s boyfriend or rather fiancé (I overheard a conversation about the ring that I shouldn’t have).

Now, if I can only stop writing you these meaningless letters that I’ll never send, and you’ll never read.

Never yours,

Salem

Note: This book is a stand-alone, and it does not contain cheating.

My Darling Arrow - Beautiful, Sweet and Crazy in L

My Darling Arrow by Saffron A. Kent is one of the most anticipated and my favourite books this year! I love everything about My Darling Arrow - beautiful and gripping love story, emotional hero and sweet heroine, and on the book cover you see Arrow himself.❤️ Narrated by Jason Clark as Arrow and his voice is divine. Sarah Puckett as Salem is also perfect. All Saffron A. Kent books are special and her writing style is fenomenal, because you feel like you are these heroes or heroines. All the feelings Salem and Arrow feel are so beautiful, raw, gripping, crazy in love, possessive and sexy. How they see or do not see each other is so beautifully written. All the feels are out there and while reading, I felt all of them - unrequited love, hope, courage to go out there, angst, hurting, being in love and so much happiness. I think I fell in love with Arrow and when he finally started to notice Salem, “oh my”. He was not very nice about it in the beginning and then he was also so much more... Arrow has so many layers and how Salem gets to know him from his other side - possessive, protective, emotional and completely in love.  Salem writes sweet letters to Arrow in secret and through the book you want to know, will he get them in the end. Salem's new friends in St. Mary’s school is also important to notice because each one will have their own story. I am so excited to see where these series will go. The next one A Gorgeous Villain, will be Callie's story. Thank you for creating these beautiful, forbidden and swoon-worthy romantic heroes/heroines and their love stories! If you love to read romantic, unrequited and hot love stories then I highly recommend My Darling Arrow and all other Saffron A. Kent super hot and amazing books. They are very special! 🧡❤️💜

Good Book

All in all, good book with excellent narration. Honestly, I was immediately drawn in and needed to see where the story would go. Downside...some redundant elements in the storyline. By the end, I felt I would literally scream if I heard the words “witchy” or “perfect” one more time. A little overdramatized for my liking. However, I found myself really dedicated to the storyline by the middle of the book...and there were some really steamy, sexy elements too 🔥 But I got a little frustrated with the theatrics and over the top characterizations. I was good by the time I reached the ending and felt satisfied...although I would have loved the main characters to have been further along in the maturation of their relationship...wanted to see what their HEA looked like further down the line. Maybe we find those answers during tidbits of the next installment in the series? Either way, I did enjoy the overall story. Narration added to that enjoyment. 5 star performance; 3-3.5 star story; 4 stars overall.

Angst and all the feels!

My Darling Arrow is signature Saffron!! Steamy, forbidden, ANGST and all the FEELS! The narration done by Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke was PERFECTION! Their voices complimented each other and the passion and emotion in their voices I LOVED! Salem is sassy and sarcastic. She is passionate and slightly crazy. But she LOVES hard and has a huge heart. I loved her confidence and how she goes after what she wants without apology. She has loved Arrow for 8 years! Her love for him has been unrequited due to the fact that he is her sisters ex. After her latest act of rebellion she is sent away to a reform school. On the surface Arrow is the complete opposite of Salem, he doesn't take risks. He is a perfectionist and lives life with caution. But on the inside he is pure alpha with a dirty/filthy mouth and mind. He has had his world turned upside down and now deep down he is broken and hurting. Arrow ends up inside the reform school as Salem's coach and it's about to get even messier for him and his heart. Not to mention the fact that he and Salem are even more forbidden then they already were. This is a MESSY love story. It is beautiful and different. It is not simple or sweet but the angst, passion and undeniable chemistry between them is incredible and you cannot help but route for them. I loved the message of self discovery and a love so big you are willing to risk it all. Saffron has created a world I did not want to leave! I absolutely adore Callie and Reed and am DYING for their story next!

Rarely Rate DNF's

I rarely rate books I do not finish, which is probably a disservice to others, but I have to share my opinion on this one. I have really enjoyed books by this author in the past, like 5* ratings, but this was a good concept that should have been a short story. it is painfully strung out with redundant and ridiculously flowery dialog and very little forward movement. I reached the point where I could not listen for another second.

Oh Audible, I did enjoy this program

I am so happy that I purchased the audio version of this book because the way it was read was completely perfect. I love Saffron A. Kent’s love stories because the love is so real and painful and consuming. I love the certainty and absolute devotion of her characters. I love the sacrifices that are made because of love. This book, as with all Kent’s books gives you the excitement, the feels, the cries, and the smiles that you hope romance will bring. She definitely delivers in this book and I will certainly be listening to this book again soon and often. Thank you for another amazing story.

Loved it

I loved Salem and Arrow's story when I read but listening has made me love them more!
That Broken Arrow...his voice is smooth and sexy. You can hear his struggle with his version of perfection. And Salem...witchy, witchy Salem...that little rule breaker.
Again I was sucked into their story!
Thanks for bringing them to life!

Forbidden love

This was an amazing story written by Saffron A. Kent,
The story itself had me hooked from the beginning, a forbidden love between Salem with her love letters and Arrow with his Denial. I felt the connection between them. Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke did such a good job.

Beautiful Story!

My Darling Arrow is a beautifully written forbidden romance. Salem and Arrow's story is intense, slow paced, and emotional. They are opposites attract, and they share a strong chemistry. Arrow is a perfect anti-hero, alpha, cold, arrogant, and commanding. His story intrigued me. Salem is a wonderful character. She is young, and she is unsecure. Turns out she is strong, selfless, caring, supportive, and determined. I liked her. I loved to follow them in their journey. The story is told with both POV, which is great. I love the ending. This is a beautiful story. Jason Clarke and Sarah Puckett did a great job with the narration. I read it before, and I enjoyed the audiobook version.

Saint Mary's Rebels

My Darling Arrow (Saint Mary's Rebels #1) is lovestory about unrequited love with a all girls boarding school world with a forbidden romance trope and dabbles in a bit of sports. I absolutely loved the poetic letters written by Salem to Arrow. I wasn't a fan of Salem's sister Sarah and she never redeemed herself. Arrow's character was complex and I wish the author dove deeper into his personality. Salem's inner turmoil and thoughts were well vocalized. A new adult novel, first in the series and introduces other supportimg female characters in the school who will get have own book. I absolutely loved the epilogue. Looking forward to listening to the next audio in this series when available.

Jason Clarke, Sarah Puckett dual naration brought out the melancholy and beautiful heartbreaker of a romance. Uttlerly seductive and sensuous intonation of Sarah Puckett was perfect. Jason Clarke's deep baritone inflection is perfect for choice as Arrow. A flawless performance by two favorites.

Taboo and Spicy!

Arrow is a golden god! He's broody, dark, mysterious perfection and nothing like anyone thinks. He has his perfect persona on the field and he has the real him he hides behind the perfect persona.

Salem and her witchy heart were such innocent perfection.

These two together caused all the fireworks, taboo and all. They were hot and glorious and yet so sweet at the same time. I loved the connection they had, even when it was unconventional and not necessarily a good idea considering all the circumstances, it was everything I wanted!

I loved watching Salem and Arrow find themselves, truly find their true selves together. Both of them learning how to navigate this new thing and their new lives together even when they knew the world would frown upon it, especially their families. The attraction was just too strong to fight and I loved it!

Jason Clarke and Sarah Puckett were so good! They played these two characters perfectly. I loved it.

Age gap taboo romance.

Salem and Arrow manage to tick just about every box in the taboo and angst checklist.
Age-Gap
Coach/Student
Sisters boyfriend
Brother figure
Forbidden

I loved Salems friend group and will definitely read/listen to more of the girls stories. It did take me a little while to get over Arrow being her sisters ex-boyfriend but watching him realise whats been in front of him the whole time is so worth it.

The romance was well balanced between sweet and steamy. Both main characters go through some major growth throughout the book and I hope we get to check in with Salem again in future books.

There's little bits of humour and banter dashed throughout. A heavy amount of heartbreak and angst. Plus a good level of possessive dirty talk.

Sweet & Forbidden

Salem was such a wonderful character, she was messy and wild and broke the rules. But she’s also beauty and grace, she’s sunshine & I absolutely loved her strength. The romance was so good, it was filled with passion and angst and so much longing. I loved how they made each other feel and made each other better.

Forbidden Sports Romance

My Darling Arrow by Saffron A. Kent is a forbidden sports romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jason Clarke and Sarah Puckett. This is the first book in the St. Mary's Rebels series and can be read as a standalone.

This is the first book of Saffron's that I read, and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Arrow and Salem. It was messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series The Wild Mustang & The Dancing Fairy so I can get Calliope and Reed's story.

Jason and Sarah did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a forbidden romance, sports romance, new adult romance, or a contemporary romance.

Forbidden love

This is a good storyline with lots of emotions. Falling for your sisters boyfriend is always going to end badly. With so much on the line do these characters hide their feelings or wear them with pride?
A brilliant performance.

Arrow & Salem

3.5 stars
Jeez! Arrow was such an @r$$h0le d1ck, sometimes. I really wondered how Salem put up with his awful personality. Of course towards the end all is understood but I struggled to keep listening…Nothing against Sarah Puckett’s or Jason Clarke’s narration, they were amazing, but Arrow as a character left a lot to be desired. I’m still annoyed with him for the things he said to Salem all throughout the book.

Unusual, but intense!

This has been a really good listen, aided by the undoubted talents of Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke. Always worth listenibg to! With many interesting styles of writing used to good effect, My Darling Arrow is a book which has an impact on the reader. Salem is a very much alone, surrounded by people unable to share affection, and uninterested in the impact of their behaviour on a sensitive, lonely child. I did struggle with the whole reform school concept, and the language around Salem's thoughts as they seemed to reflect someone considerably younger than 18 but was relieved that Salem did find sympathetic souls with whom she could develop friendships.
I enjoyed the awakening of Arrow over the course of the book. A good read which did not quite hit the mark at times. 💖💖💖💖

Excellent narration

My Darling Arrow is an intense engrossing story that will grab you from the start and not let go. This is a messy forbidden angst-filled love story that will give you all the feels.
Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke did a fantastic job with the narration. They gave the characters their own voice and personality and brought out the emotions from them. Their voices were clear and understandable and it was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Beautifully Sweet 💕

When I started this book I really didn't know where it could go... The synopsis had pretty much given no hope... Boy, I was wrong!!
I felt Salam's raw and slightly naive emotions as much as I totalling fell in love with the broken and beautiful Arrow!
The build, the back and forth, and the hint of forbidden made for one hell of a story! I really didn’t want this book to come to an end.. But knowing there are more in this series.... I CAN'T WAIT!!
The performance was 100% perfection 🥰 LOVE LOVE LOVE... 💕🖤🎧

Cute HEA but unsure of the story line

I’m a little on the fence with this book. The HEA was cute & worth the book journey. There were some very steamy scenes as well! The main girl drove me a little crazy though as she constantly says ‘what?’ or repeats what he says like she never knows what’s going on. Narrators were great!

** Stop reading now if you don’t want the spoilers! **
.
.
.
.
I guess I struggled with the fact that he was with the sister for 8 years and she was legitimately obsessed with him from afar while he didn’t even give her a thought at all. At the end it all seemed cute & ended well but during the book I just found it cringy af and kinda creepy that she was so attached to someone she had never really spoken to. Also I really thought after their relationship became apparent to the school there would of been trouble considering he was basically a teacher and she was a student. But it seemed to be fine which I thought was unrealistic. But like I said above they get their HEA and it made me feel all the feels.
